Kokomo Alehouse — Restaurant in Kokomo

We have been to Kokomo Alehouse several times. The food is always very good and the craft beer selection is on point.

We typically sit at the bar. The service has been a mixed experience. Most of the time, it is acceptable (sometimes fantastic, other times lackluster). Same with the kitchen. Sometimes super quick. Other times, not so much.

We enjoy their live music. That said, when live music is not playing and the place is busy, it is VERY loud.

Update 5/5/2023: The live music was the saving grace tonight. The service was subpar. Our waitress brought us the wrong beer. My burger was inedible, had to be sent back and remade. The beer cheese for our appetizer was cold. No plates were served with our appetizer. We had to go to the bar to get our check out because our waitress was too busy on her phone and talking to the other waitress and bartender to bring our check to our table. My husband had to wait while the bartender served several others and finished their own shots before checking out.

Came to hear my high school buddy's band, Timepiece, on a Friday night when live music is their thing. Nice atmosphere. No smoke. Food was pretty good. Got the 12" Chicken Bacon Ranch hot sandwich. Pleasantly came as two 6" sandwiches. Man, those are a meal! Tasted great, but I could only finish one. And that is saying something. Also ordered the Breaded Mushrooms. Great taste. Great batter, but too much of it. Need to take the time (even on a very busy Friday night) to let the excess drain off. Then they would be perfect. Service was good for as busy as it was. I'm assuming it would be better on nights without live music, as has been noted in other reviews. With the music, it was loud. It was hard for me to hear, but I'm 65 and worked on airplanes for 45 years. That being said, it didn't seem others, even old folks, were having a problem communicating. We love that this restaurant regularly has live bands and has an outdoor space. The food here is pretty good. My husband loves the Stromboli sub and he likes their pizza. I have tried a few things. The Stromboli sub is good. The Chicken Bacon Ranch sub is also good. The service is ok. I would love for the patio to have speakers so we can hear the music and potted plants or something on the fence blocking the only view, which are an Ike abandon building on one side, the parking lot, and old business building on the other. Another suggestion would be to consider rearranging the tables as some tables and chairs are very low and others are bar height. When bands are playing or when the place is very busy it is really odd that some of the lowest tables and chairs are in between the taller bar height tables making it impossible see the band or easily get in and out of chairs and...
