Visited Hulopo'e Beach park whilst our day trip to Lanai from Maui with my partner in May 2023. The beach park was quiet and peaceful, if that is what your looking for then this is for you, the beach is prestine and beautiful with golden sand. The waves were quite big when we were there, which wouldn't be ideal for we kids, but a we bit further out was great for Snorkeling away from the surf. The beach area has loads of great walks like out to sweetheat rock and sea cliffs which is a short walk was stunning. There is loads of rock pools which are full of wild life, and one pool is so big you can swim in it. There is loads of parking and restrooms with showers, but if you come over in the ferry and don't plan of going anywhere except the beach you won't even need a car. The beach is a short walk from Manele small boat harbour, the four seasons hotel is also right on the beach so your not far to go to visit the restaurant for food. A shuttle bus is also available from harbour to Lanai City for other food options. So if you Visit Lanai as a day trip your staying on the Island you must visit Hulopo'e Beach you won't regret it. I would go back in a heart beat as I loved it Steve and...
Read moreThe walk to the beach from the harbour is short but hot. Facilities are excellent and better than any beaches on Maui or Oahu that I have visited. The beach itself is of excellent quality with minimal rock at the beach and multiple picnic benches in the shade. The snorkelling here initially looks disappointing until you venture out further into the reef directly in front of the washrooms. Then you are greeted with deep lava rock formations covered in coral and bursting with marine life. Continue venturing further out into the bay and enjoy some underwater swim through opportunities and the chance to see larger fish and sharks. Definitely worth the day trip if you’re looking for similar quality snorkelling to Honolua bay with...
Read moreAs of August 2022 the park itself was closed to vehicular traffic because construction was ongoing to repair the park due to a recent storm that flooded the park and washed away some of the beach sand. There were many exposed rocks along the beach that could be tossed up with the waves and can hit you in the shins. The surf was very very strong here so don't go if you're not a strong swimmer. Very beautiful and very sparsely visited. A short walk from the nearby marina. Travel south for a nice scenic hike. Stay on the trails to protect...
