Worst Service ever!!
This company has cost me more then the repair work. I dropped off my coach to get two things done 4 weeks ago. A hydraulic HWH service for my leveling and and slide outs. They said it would be looked at in a week, when their tech came back from vacation. Also I needed a new toilet installed. I have a 2007 pusher with 4 slides. I have followed up all month, with calls here and there, the parts came in for the toilet and they installed it the parts came in for the HWH and they did nothing for over two weeks. I was promised it would be looked at as soon as the new control board came in. But that did not happen.
They installed the toilet as they stated but sat and did NOTHING with the more technical issue, Based on what I learned this weekend on my final follow up, the unit has not been touched. I spoke to Joseph a service writer who was in this weekend, I explained I have heard nothing and I need to pick up the coach. He said his service manager is assuring me the unit will be ready for pick up Monday. This morning on Monday they obviously started the HWH service and review because they discovered after 11:00am today that they needed more parts. It is going to take 2 more weeks..to get the parts that they need. I need this coach this Friday for a 10 day event. They knew this and they had the time to do this job but waited. Today Monday I asked what happened and my original service writer "Kylie" told me she has been asking and bugging "Jose" the HWH tech for the last two weeks to work on the unit and he would not do anything. I was shocked by this. Then I asked her what else did she do, she said she asked Paul and Dave (service manager and store manager) who also did nothing about it. I asked to talk to either of them and conveniently neither of them are there. so I asked about the general manager - Out on Monday but she offered an acting manager named Jeff. I said is he available. She said he just walked up to her so I could talk to him right now. Then she put me on hold for over 5 minutes obviously to debrief Jeff before he got thrown into a buzz saw. I hung up after the 5 minutes and called the corp number that you hear when you call in- It is a message from Marcus stating if you don't get the service you deserve and you are not happy he will do something to resolve the issues. I called the number and it is a call center, so the message is "marketing" a empty warranty of service at this point.... We will see if the call center has any value at all. Now I am going to miss my event and I will not be able to tow my trailer to this event, all as result of a huge culture issue at Camping World. If staff does not care this is what happens. I run a service based company and if my team treated my clients with this level of care I would lose the clients. So this would cost them their job, I would not stand for this level of service and lack of accountability. For someone to tell me they kept bugging someone else to do a job ? What kind of shop does not operate with management oversight and schedules ? Camping world. Read moreThe Service Dept at Camping World La Mirada have brought back my DREAM in bright living color again .... after another facility turned had turned it into a my nightmare.
After retiring from military service, years of saving and working hard... my dream was to travel the country in an RV to look for a place my puppies and I could call home... as well as finally get to travel to all the places I never found time to go while I was on active duty. I was THRILLED to finally be starting my adventure when I bought my coach in mid Apr 2014.
I soon noticed that the Camping World facility I purchased from were content to have their sizable check and didn't give a FLIP about me or the repairs/warranty issues that needed to be addressed. They were even inferring that I was responsible for some of the issues! (not likely as I drove it straight home and it sat parked in front of my friend's house). After 2 months of waiting for them to even begin... I left on my trip. Sadly in the first RV park I went to, I got hit by a 5th wheel that hadn't pulled in his slide. Seriously universe?!! I began to question my decision to follow my dream to live in an RV!!! 3 or 4 other RV park patrons (not related to each other) came by to tell me that it'd be worth my while to travel the 6-7 hours to go down to La Mirada Camping World to get the bodywork repaired and address the other issues that still had not even been started.
La Mirada Camping World has gone above and beyond from day one! In less than 2 days they had already begun work on issues that had been lingering since mid April! And even took it upon themselves to fix a few new ones they found too! In the meantime, they have allowed me to park in the lot while waiting for parts and have kept me in the loop on the status of the repairs with updates as they knew more.
This was FAR beyond good customer service. This was them treating me how they would treat someone in their family. As a woman making a bold and daring life choice to travel the country, this kind of compassion and support when I was feeling defeated has been priceless.

Read moreCustomer Service was okay. Helpful for the most part but you have to find them. Make sure you price whatever you are buying online first. It may be cheaper and they will match it. One employee gave some attitude about it but changed her tone when I just started to walk out. Two can play that game. Also, propane can only be filled during service hours which is "not" store hours. 8-5 Mon-Fri only which are service hours and not store hours. Typical of a Camping World!!! BTW, when you call them they seem to be clueless or act as if you should know the answer to the question you are asking. Rude, but better than most stores.
Update: Just went here to fill up on propane. Showed up at 4:30 pm. Was told that they stopped propane service at 4 pm. I asked the cashier than why was I told 5 pm by your customer service representative on the phone? The cashier starts pointing at the sign behind the counter and says these are the hours of service we go by. I restated that if that is the case than why and who told me 5pm. I drove 20 mins to get here. She said that the customer service representative for Camping World is wrong and the sign is right. She started to get really pissy and told me not to talk if I wanted help. She than yelled across the store for some dude to help me out. Then she yelled on the store pa at the dude. He finally came up and she made it sound like she was really going out of her way and doing a huge favor to refill my propane tanks. The only reason I am lowering my rating from a 3 to a 2 and not a 1 is that the guy who refilled my tanks was nice....
