For starters, we check in to our king room. We intentionally got a king room so there is more room for our kiddos. We get to the room only to find no tub. We ask the front desk for a room with a tub because we have a 2 year old and 4 year old and they let us know that none of their king rooms have tubs. So we have to go with a double queen. We switch rooms with my parents who take our king suite. We get to our room and everything is LOW! The microwave, fridge, even thermostat is within reach of our two year old. That was unexpected as most hotels put at least the microwave and thermostat a little higher. There is no dresser so don’t plan on unpacking your clothes. Instead there are three little metal drawers that pull out from the cabinet. The closet in the queen room was a sliding door that shared with the bathroom so if you shut the bathroom, you are opening the closet, making it difficult to keep things away from the kiddos as you can’t close both at once. The common areas were nice... very trendy and big chairs for sitting in. But again, not practical if you have little kids. Two high chairs but if your kid is too big for big chairs they may be too small for the other furniture in the breakfast area. It was difficult for our four year old to eat at the tables. If you have special dietary needs (I have celiacs), you won’t be able to eat much as there is a lot of cross contamination and no gluten free cereals or bread options. The pool said it was heated but was absolutely freezing when we were there. The location is close to Knott’s and Disney but if you’re trying to relax, there are no close parks and the kids can’t play outside because you’re surrounded by a busy street and parking lots. Finally, when we left, my parents were charged twice for their room. When they called, the staff denied they were charged twice. After several phone calls with several staff and management, they were told one of the charges would be reversed. They have been waiting a week for one of the charges to be reversed but that hasn’t happened. Waiting to see what...
Read moreThis is my second stay here, yes the walls are thin and we were in the 3rd floor. I did wake up when the family above us came into their room. While it didn’t seem they were being loud or jumping sounds do travel easily to rooms. I was in a suite and only had to deal with people above and below. ||The hotel has been clean and staffed appropriately. Like most pools in California the water isn’t heated, the pool is in the back next to the parking lot. The pool is clean, hot tub is hot and decent sized for California. ||The breakfast is a standard Hampton inn breakfast, the hotel had staff to clean up messes when they did happen and to clean the tables. There is nothing special about the breakfast, they have two waffle irons you can always expect a line on a weekend. ||Our hotel room, sheets and sofa bed were all clean. The hotel is newer and doesn’t have the dated feel. Once again the rooms are nothing to hype up they are basic rooms, this is a Hampton inn and for what you are paying it’s a great little room. ||The hotel charged my card the appropriate amount, staff was friendly, I didn’t have any issues with my stay. ||I do prefer the Hilton Anaheim when I come to town as I usually get upgrades but my kids prefer to get their own food, they enjoy making waffles so every once in a while I do break out of the norm and stay somewhere different. I am a diamond member with Hilton, I do travel to California 7-12 times a year, this hotel is on par for SoCal area. ||With that being said I did get an average night sleep at this hotel. The worst sleep I’ve had in the parks district was Hilton Garden inn Anaheim resort. I do not pack lite when I come to California, I usually come for business trips, I prefer hotels that have valet parking...
Read more5/5 room - My family and I stayed in Hampton Inn at Buena Park for 3 nights, all of which were fantastic. The room was exceptional and seemed like either newer or recently renovated room. Everything was clean and including the shower head; you can tell a lot from the shower head. The beds and pillows soft and the comforter had ample thickness to it. Room temperature stayed surprisingly comfortable considering I never notice it running. Our room had a fridge and microwave at our disposal.
5/5 location - The Inn is fairly short drive to Disneyland and Knott's. We were even close enough to the walk of fame that we took a drive there also. It is just off the I-5 but far enough that you aren't hearing constant freeway traffic. It doesn't really even sit on a big intersection so regular traffic is fairly light. There are no trains or airplanes close by either so it makes for a good nights rest.
5/5 Staff - The staff here was awesome. They were down to Earth yet very professional. We had bought some ice cream for desert but realized we didn't have bowls and spoons. We asked the reception desk and they were happy to oblige us with the bowls and spoons that were usually put out for breakfast. They always greeted us as we were coming and going if they were not occupied with another guest.
5/5 Breakfast - The hot breakfast was great. It was fairly typical breakfast items like cereal, bagels, fruit. They also had waffles, toast, eggs, and sausages. What made it even better was that they didn't close shop until everyone was done eating. If it went pass 9 am then so be it. We passed by at 10 and everything was still out with a few people still enjoying a...
