In June of 2021 I received a 1bbl electric system through my local home brew store. When it arrived I had an electrician come out to help me get it hooked up. At that point I was informed that the BrewCommander and relay required to run the system where not CSA approved to be hooked up in Canada. This was an oversite on my part and so I contacted Employee #1 at Blichmanns to buy the correct part. This is where my experience took a turn for the worse... I was informed on June 23rd that they had the panel in stock and that they would be able to ship it to me. Then I didn't hear anything till the start of August where I was told that they actually didn't have any in stock and that they would be coming in 3-4 weeks later. I didn't get upset at this point and I gave Employee #1 the benefit of the doubt. At the start of September I followed up again and got completely ghosted by the Pro-sales team. It wasn't till October 10th that I was informed that this would be a special issue item and they needed my CC number. after giving it to them I didn't hear anything again. I left voice messages on Employee #1's phone every couple of days wondering where the panel was. On December 8th I was informed by employee #2 that Employee #1 doesn't work there anymore.
I spoke to employee # 2 and knowing that Christmas as fast arriving I accepted a delivery date of January 28th. Keep in mind this is now 7 months from the time of my initial contact with an employee at Blichmann's.
On Feb 2nd I followed up on where my panel was. I got a new email from employee #3 informing me as follows
"We want to give an update on all inquiries. We have had unexpected staffing changes and we have new staff coming up to speed. We are diligently working though our inquiries and your patience is much appreciated. Please note that we are working them in the order received, however, please avoid sending multiple emails as that combines them and moves them to the bottom of the list. We appreciate your patience and we look forward to getting your inquiry taken care of as soon as possible."
I feel that I have been waiting patiently for someone to contact me. I reached out via facebook messenger to talk to someone in Sr Managment on February 3rd and that didn't help me at all.
It is now February 11th and I still have no idea where my panel is or if it was ever ordered.
If someone would like to contact me about my experience please feel free to call me I have given enough people at Blichmann's my phone number.
Edit March 6, 2022 - I still haven't heard from anyone...
Read moreI have owned and operated a brew shop and brewing classroom for years. Almost all of my work is done on a 10 gallon gas Blichmann system. Very reliable, easy to use and well laid out. I recently upgraded my fermenters to G4… wow very nice improvements! I love the added features and smooth stainless interior. Makes brewing easy and clean up quick. Great equipment.
Rarely do I come back and edit a review…but I think that Blichmann deserves some extra praise. I recently purchased a CIP kit for my G4 & 3 model fermenters. I mentioned earlier how I run a brew class so my Blichmann systems get a workout. These cleaning/sanitizing additions are amazing. Cuts clean up time and ensures every nook and cranny gets sanitized. Great addition. Could not say more about them. Every time I reach out with a problem in my brewery…this team seems to already have a solution. My clients have noticed how much Blichmann I have and when they ask why I tell them…there are lots of brewery systems now, but these guys are the masters. They have been doing this a long time, know their stuff and stand behind their products. Best part…if you call an actual knowledgeable person answers the call or...
Read moreSave your money and buy from a reputable company. I have several of their home brew products, 2 different beer gun models (because I had issues with both) and the QuickCarb. Everything they sell falls apart after a few uses without exception. Both beer guns failed but the real kick in the sack was the $179.99 QuickCarb unit. I was given this as a christmas present in 2017 and during the second use the pump died. Just died in the middle of use. I contacted Blichmann and they will not cover in under warranty. I had this product less than 2 months... December till February... and they will not service or replace the pump. I have had the beer gun fall apart, but I could at least get spare parts to fix their cheap Chinese junk, but I can't replace a pump. And not that Blichmann's Customer Service has decided they won't cover a warranty issue, I'm done with them forever. I will STRONGLY encourage anyone looking at their products to consider buying from ANYONE else who will cover defaulty products, because...
