Parish Nights - Country Swing & Line Dancing — Attraction in Lafayette

The classes bring together people of all ages, backgrounds and skill. Several people are there every Friday. I can see why they are hooked. Country swing is a fun entry into other types of partner dancing. Chung teaches very well and has dancers swap so we can all keep learning from each other. More experienced dancers help beginners. There’s fun music variety so it’s not really just country. The line dances are interesting ways to build an understanding of choreography. It will be awhile before I have those down but it’s so enjoyable to keep trying anyway. I was looking for adult dancing outside of a bar environment and I like to be active but I’m not a gym person. This is perfect! I appreciate Chung for bringing adult dancing to Lafayette. It’s well organized, affordable and I can see it will grow fast. You can go alone or with a partner. I went for the first time tonight. I enjoy dancing and have very little background in actually learning, just dancing at weddings and with family and stuff. But this class was SO FUN and SO helpful for learning. I try new things a lot so I’m used to being bad at stuff and would’ve been fine if it took a few classes to really get the hang of it. But the class is so helpful and fun and I learned so much. Like 5-6 moves in one night and had time to practice them. The people are so kind and patient. I will definitely be back and I would recommend it to anyone...

10/10 community. Classes are CHEAP and NON-JUDGMENTAL no matter your skill level. Personally, I don’t even like country music; however, the dancing is so fun I simply can’t stop coming. Im the type of person with no rhythm and couldn’t catch a beat if it was the flu ;however, in only 4 classes not only has my all around dancing ability improved, but so has my coordination and confidence.
