I had a terrible experience last night. I placed a pick up order on DoorDash because that was what was most convenient for me. When I arrive to pick up my order, the girl working the takeout counter did not want to give me my food. I gave her my name and then she asked me for a confirmation which this is my first time doing a pick up order with DoorDash so I told her I did not have a confirmation and I didn’t know what she was talking about, she said she hates to ask, but people be stealing is what she said to me, I said well how would I know what my order is or how would I know my name, I said well, I can show you my email confirmation. I showed her that and then I showed her my order information in my DoorDash account and she insisted on me giving her the confirmation code at that point. I was just very frustrated and honestly insulted I told her I didn’t even want the food at that point that I would be happy to get my refund and Then leave, she proceeded to question me about why I don’t have the DoorDash app why is my order in a web browser? Why the hell does it matter if I’m using the DoorDash app or a web browser? At this point, I am shocked at the ignorance at the lack of professionalism because there is no reason I should have to be going back-and-forth with anybody about a carry out order. Finally, a gentleman from the back came to the front and I guess she told him about the situation and he’s looking at her like she’s crazy and he said so the order is paid for? She said yeah he said and it’s her order? She said yeah he said OK so give her her food what are you doing ..And then she proceeds to tell me how she’s so sorry at that point, I am furious. I’m over it overall, really poor experience, Normally I don’t go there to get my crawfish. I normally go to the bulldog to get my crawfish. But I live a street over so I just thought for convenience I might as Well, just get it from here. This was not my first time coming to this establishment in my whole life. I’ve probably been here three times, but I will not be returning wow. I’m so...
Read moreWent for lunch. Have frequented here before, but this time it was bad. They raised their prices on almost everything. Which I get it, inflation right? OK, well the fried pickles were 11$ ok whatever, but it looked like we got half an order. So after looking at the menu me and my husband both decided on the plate lunch. Which was chicken fried steak, gravy, garlic potatoes, corn, okra and a brownie. Well, that was so salty it was almost hard for me to eat. My husband couldn't finish his, so most of it went to waste. Even the potatoes were super salty. Not much taste other than that. When the waitress asked us how it was we told her it was super salty and she could see we didn't eat much of it. All she offered was a half hearted apology and went about her way. Fine, she didn't cook it, not her fault. But man, it was all so disappointing. For 2 plate lunches, and the fried pickles plus the tip it was 59 and some change. So, 60$ for some stuff we could barely eat....sad to say the least. We've always loved the food there. I'm not sure what is going on but, idk if it'll be worth going back...
Edit for Owner Response: We didn't get a chance to ask for one honestly. We saw the waitress once for drinks and the app, another to order food, and a 3rd time to clear the table and bring the check. When we told her it was super salty she didn't offer anything. So we just paid and left. Another waitress also asked us and we told her the same thing. She also apologized but that was it, told her it wasn't her fault. I understand...
Read moreOur family went tonight and were so glad they were open on New Year's Day! We had quite a wait but they were pretty busy - maybe because of the holiday, maybe because everybody was wanting crawfish at the beginning of the new season or maybe just because they're very popular. We got a pager and waited patiently ... an estimated half-an-hour turned into about an hour. Thank goodness for their new dining area located next to the original smaller bar space, because both were as full as they could be. Well, as much as they could be with COVID restrictions in place. The staff was great - they patiently answered questions and seemed to be on it in regards to the seating and wait list. Our waitress, Caroline, was super sweet and took her time with us, making sure we continually had what we needed. She chit-chatted with us and made sure that we didn't feel rushed. The food was delicious! The crawfish had great flavor, were easy to peel and were juicy. My son's crawfish po'boy was overflowing with fried crawfish tails, which was a welcome surprise - they filled the po'boy halves, then covered his plate! They were delicate and beautiful, not overbreaded or overcooked. My husband and younger son each had burgers, which were both very good. We'd been in one other time, about a year ago, and liked it then - but I think the food has gotten even better since. We will be going back for sure! Thank y'all for the...
