Market Basket — Attraction in Lake Charles

I shop at Market Basket several times a week, sometimes more than once a day, depending on if I’m doing a lot of cooking. I like the store, the people, the produce, and it’s location is very close to my house. I have always used checks to make my purchases, as I don’t trust debit cards after my friend’s bank account was drained after using her card at a restaurant. Everything was great until about November and December of 2019. Suddenly, the register has started declining my checks and a manager has to be called to okay them. They keep saying that it’s because of the frequency I use checks at their store, they have to wait until my previous checks clear before I can write another. I have never bounced a check at Market Basket and I have never before had this happen until now. I am embarrassed every time this happens, like I’m some kind of check bouncer. So, if I can’t shop at Market Basket without continually being embarrassed at the register, then maybe I need to find a store that doesn’t make you feeling...

I wasn't actually shopping, I bought the same groceries at Walmart and market basket and it cost me considerably more to shop at Market Basket. Approximately 1/3 more. This was pre COVID and honestly I don't go to the store anymore if I can help it or if I just want to get out. The day I was there, I was caught up in the heat without any shelter, so I moved about 25 ft from the bus stop so that I could stand in the Market Basket sign's shadow, it was that hot. Long story short, I was running to the bus and because I didn't make it to the stop before he did, he passed me by. I ended up in Market Basket for the AC and wifi so I could get someone to pick me up. That was the extent of my Trip to that particular store. I'm very thankful that they were...

Went in for cat food. Emerged 26 minutes later.

Middle of the afternoon on a Friday and they had 2 registers open. Express lane closed.... Backed up into the freezer section. While convenient this store is going down fast... The assistant manager finally opened the express lane after both registers backed up several people deep... DO BETTER PLEASE...

I want to keep my money locally, but I will not continue to pay a +/- 20% price premium over other local grocery stores if it takes me just as long to stop at those as this location that's 2 blocks...
