I was very excited to hear we were finally getting another Vietnamese restaurant but was left a little underwhelmed by the menu. I was hoping for a few more Vietnamese dishes since it’s pretty slim in our options. Regardless, I still had to give it a try. They are still in a soft opening, but I hope they get some constructive feedback and tweak their offerings.
The pho flavor was good and very comparable to the competition around town; however, I feel like the quantity of meat and noodles fell short of the competition and provided less value.
The Bun Bo Hue was not bad, but I probably won’t order it again from here. The only other place in town to get this dish is at the casino and their version is much better. This dish was not spicy, did not include blood curd (for those who prefer), and was not served with accoutrements.
The winner of the meal was the egg roll. It was very crispy and flavorful. I would recommend ordering this. It’s served with sauce and lettuce to wrap.
The biggest bust of the meal was the bahn mi. I wasn’t expecting it to be a mini baguette with only a light spread of pate with about 3 batons of pickled carrot and daikon on the side. I was expecting it to have the full assortment of veggies and herbs. I would not recommend this unless you really wanted some bread.
Overall, I was disappointed in my visit. I will still return to try the rest of the menu and try their soups once they’ve had time to make all their adjustments, but wish I could have added another spot in my noodle...
Read moreI’ve visited To Pho twice since they’ve opened. The first time I went during lunch, I ordered the vermicelli bowl with grilled chicken. Everything was fresh and it was a good portion. In my opinion, this was a perfect portion for lunch and wasn’t too heavy. The veggies were high quality and the chicken was grilled perfectly without being too dry. The crushed peanuts, fish oil, and lime on the side was a nice touch. I requested a side of chili oil, because although the dish has a good flavor, I prefer a little more spice. The second time I went for dinner, and I got the Bun Bo Hue. This is a soup served with a variety of beef meat, vermicelli noodles, and chili oil. It had bean sprouts, fresh jalapeños and lime on the side for garnish. Again this was the perfect serving size and the broth was bursting with flavor. You can really tell that the owners put a lot of pride and joy into their dishes. I will definitely be returning to try more...
Read moreI went with some friends to check this place out. The restaurant is on the small side, with room for around 25-30 customers at a time to dine in. We managed to snag the last available table. You order and pay at the counter then seat yourself. We got our food quickly even though the place was packed. I ordered the spring rolls and beef pad thai. The spring rolls come two to an order and are generously filled, paired with a delicious peanut sauce. The pad thai was flavorful and full of tender chunks of beef. My friend and I both agreed it’s some of the best pad thai we’ve ever had. Another friend got the bun bo hue and said it was delicious. I can’t wait to go back and try other items. The staff was friendly and attentive and made us feel...
