The Terrace Restaurant at Lake Area Adventures — Restaurant in Lake Charles

I visited The Terrace yesterday with high hopes for a fun evening, and while I did enjoy playing bingo with my friends, my experience with the service left a lot to be desired.

To start, when I ordered my drinks, I asked for margaritas on the rocks. I was not informed that they only come in a small size, and after waiting 20 minutes, the server returned to tell me that I could only have frozen margaritas instead. It would have been helpful if she had communicated this upfront so that we weren't left waiting.

Next, we ordered some starters, including wings, and I specifically asked for one portion with two different flavors. Instead, she brought us two separate sets of wings with only six pieces each. I decided to pay for this mix-up, even though I hadn't requested two portions.

When the bill arrived, it was a shocking $73 more than what we expected. The server charged us for eight margaritas when we only had four, and she added a fruit drink that we never ordered. To make matters worse, she had to amend our bill three times, and it was still incorrect at the end of it all.

This experience was incredibly frustrating, and I left feeling disappointed. I won't be returning to The Terrace again. The service was disorganized and unprofessional, which overshadowed what could have been a fun night out. My husband and I went on a Friday night to listen to John Guidroz play outside on the terrace. We arrived and found a table. We were greeted and given drink menus and menu.

I ordered a watermelon drink that was wonderful. we ordered Fried Pepper jack bites for an appetizer. It came with a blueberry pepper jelly or dipping sauce.

For our meals we ordered the spicy pizza added shrimp, a custom burger, and the seafood lasagna. The seafood lasagna was on the weekly special for under $12.00.

Reservations made through OpenTable aren’t honored. They just said they don’t use OpenTable when we showed up. They did accommodate us however which was appreciated. It’s the 2nd time I’ve tried, and I just can’t go back. They serve bottomless mimosas in tiny plastic glasses, and can’t get timely refills. Service was super slow both times. Food was ok. I had high hopes and tried for a 2nd time only because they took reservations on OpenTable, but they don’t even do that anymore so it’s a no from now on. Good luck to them and hope it...
