European Chalet Banquets — Attraction in Lake Township

I don't even know where to start! Made a phone call and spoke with John on Monday to meet with him on the upcoming Saturday to discuss booking my wedding in October. I gave John the number of people and the room (Wine Cellar) that I was particularly interested in. He stated we can go over everything when we meet on Saturday. My fiance and I arrived on time at 9:00 am on Saturday. We were kept waiting for John for about 15 minutes in one of the banquet rooms. The floors were very sticky and tacky, but there was construction going on so we overlooked that for the time being. and When John finally arrived, we were greeted with the "bum's rush" with John telling us that he had a funeral luncheon later in the day, and wants to know our details quickly as he wants to keep things moving along! Really?? Already I am getting pissed as I felt like I was greeted by some smarmy salesman. He turns to go to an office and asks for the date (I already gave him this info earlier in the week),.So I give him the date and he said he was booked! Ok then,..I proceeded to tell him so he could clearly hear me.....THEN WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME WHEN I CALLED!! Totally wasted our time! What a complete jerk and unprofessional moron! Glad I found this out now, then later. So much for wanting to give my business to an establishment in the neighborhood. Wow,..I am just blown away by the lack of professionalism this guy had. Now, I don't believe the great reviews I read about this place at all!! This type of person does not deserve to have anyone's special day at this facility. He obviously couldn't care...

Nice place. Comfortable. Not very bright or eye opening. I didn't get that inner wow feeling or impression. Lots of parking. Very clean. Dim old furniture but stylish. Not sure how many rooms they have for rent but the room we were in wasn't very large. As for the food. I didn't like the mostaccioli's they were too bland. They served dumplings that were tasteless, the beef was too thick and dry no gray. The sausages were ok and the chicken was ok. The broccoli was delicious!!! No I am not a vegetarian but even my husband liked the broccoli and he doesn't like veggies. The broccoli had lots of garlic and a very tasty buttery flavor. Really delicious. The staff was somewhat friendly but wasn't very organized. The hostess table should always be served first, they were served after a few other tables were served. They would forget to serve some of the people at each table. We had to call them over after everyone was served and tell them who they passed over. The drinks were tasteless!!! We asked for Rum and Coke, we got a glass full of ice with some brand of cola soda and we didn't taste any alcohol in our drinks. Not sure what they charged to rent that hall but I wouldn't host a party there. This place would be nice to hold some type of...

I haven't had my event yet--- However, I just would like to say: John has made my wedding planning experience easy. He was straight and to the point and I must say, I appreciate the honesty. He was extremely professional. I appreciate the fact that he was up front and honest. Before contacting European Chalet, many other banquet halls fiddle faddled when it came to talking about price....John was straight and to the point and I truly appreciate that.Everything was laid out professionally and my contract was easy to read.This is a place of business and what people don't understand is that when it comes to businesses such as this: time is money:My wedding is in April and I was able to book my venue without any problems.
