Planet Fitness — Attraction in Lakeland

Do not sign up at this gym. As a former employee I can say that management does NOT care about its staff and members by all means. They are just money hungry drunks managing a gym. They would CONSTANTLY bad mouth memebers behind their backs which is funny because it’s this suppose to be a judgment free zone? So what makes you so damn perfect!? The lack of Professionalism baffles me! I got treated veryyy differently then other staff members because of the color of my skin. I know for a fact the manger STEVE CORTES is a unethical stubborn racist because he would would talk to me ANY kind of rude way that was very unprofessional for any manger to EVER talk to any employees like that. He was Constantly putting me down damn near everyday. He is constantly gone!!! He Disappears literally 5 times everyday to go do stuff and would NEVER tell the staff were he is going just that “he will be back.?? Everytime that we need him the most too! One time a member heard the way he talked to me and she got very upset and was shock that he was are manger!!! She then pulled him to side to tell him that she did not appreciate the way he talked to his employees at all and that it was very disrespectful of him and she wanted to cancel on the spot! He then came up to me and said “you know I was joking right?”. But he wasn’t. He was very serious and try to proceed to be”nice” because he got caught showing his true colors. All you see when you get there is nothing but Caucasians.. but where is the diversity???? All Employees are constantly on their cell phones at the front desk EVERYDAY or doing things that they Should NOT be Doing during work hours and would also get “annoyed” when another employee or a member would ask for help? They lack very basic communication skills and the favoritism there is beyond chaotic (between members and employees)!!!! I wouldn’t recommend this gym to none of my family or friends so please just save your money and your time!! There are better gyms out there that will respect you...

Super upset by the customer service this gym provided on 04/05. I have been going to planet fitness for over 3 years and occasionally I bring my 14 year old brother with me as a guest. I've just recently started going to south lakeland gym and decided to bring my 16 year old sister as my guest instead of my brother this time. The staff member that helped me scan my key chain said that my sister couldn't be my guest without a photo id. I stated that she doesn't drive and I can provide a high school id with her picture but the member refused to accept that because it didn't have her age. She had the nastiest attitude and asked me if I had her birth certificate with me. I immediately said that I did not because why would I have a birth certificate with me at 8pm while I am going to the gym, plus there isn't a photo attached to a birth certificate. I explained that my brother is 14 and signed up as my guest at the north lakeland gym and I didn't need to go through this hassle. She rudely stated that my sister couldn't go in. She then asked if there was any kind of social media that had my sisters birthday on it and I again said there was not because my brother and sister share their social media. The staff member had the most unpleasant face in the world. She was argue-mental, rude and displeased that I was explaining that my sister is only 16 years old without a permit or drivers license. The staff member then turns to the side pointing at a posted sign stating that guest need a photo id to enter. I then explained that I can provide her high school id that shows her face and name stating that she was who she was but the member did not care nor wanted to help.

Truthfully I am so disgusted with planet fitness. The worst experience I've ever had with them. I will not be recommending this gym and I will be contacting corporate as well as the Better...

I traveled the country and am black card member. It is increasingly disturbing the lack of courteous professionalism displayed by a few locations this being one of them. As I checked in the female with dyed red hair was very disrespectful I was conveying my thoughts on how there weren't any parking spaces available without parking Near Street further in Parking lot due to the self righteous church using all of them I pay to use the facilities parking for the church is marked by a large sign I have no doubt members of the church that also are business owners would agree it is not good for a business to have no parking due to another business taking all the spaces and not wanting to walk in the rain. Going to church does not exclude you from having respect for other businesses. As i tried to convey that to the female employee she rolled her eyes at me and started walking off. Then when i came back to the desk to sign up for a massage i had to leave the message area to go back and ask her to start the table as she should have the first time. She again gave attitude and said i should start it by a blue button on the wall i have not been to another location with that had she done her job and explained that i would have that was the first time going to that location and only because travel for work and unfortunately seems to be the only location in this small town i will have no choice but for this week to utilize the facilities. I wouldn't keep my membership if i lived here. I think young people think good customer service is outdated.i do not recommend this location as they do not care about the...
