UNBELIEVABLE!!! I should have read the reviews before I booked this hotel. My brother and I booked a room here back in January. We arrived around 3pm and went inside what seemed like an abandoned building. There was nobody at the desk but a sign said check in was from 4pm to 9pm. we went to a restaurant nearby and came back after4 pm, still nobody was there. We waited for a while and were about to leave when this creepy guy came from out of nowhere and told us he was the front desk clerk. It took forever to check us in for some reason, he then said there was a $9 per day resort fee. when he was trying to add up the total to charge me he kept telling me the total was showing him an amount over 20 thousand dollars. He said he knew that seemed wrong but he kept getting the same number each time. I looked at his calculator and told him he needed to add a decimal before adding the cents to the total. He agreed and finally charged us the correct amount of around $250. much better than 25k. We went up to the room and dropped our stuff off and went out for the evening. When we came back there was nobody there and we got in the elevator to go up to our room but it got stuck and the door opened half way with us between floors. We had to squeeze out. it was very scary since nobody was even there to help us. My brother suggested we take the stairs up instead of trying the elevator again. we went over to the stairwell and on the door it said "STAIRS OUT OF ORDER USE ELEVATOR". I am not sure how stairs can be out of order but that is a HUGE fire hazard and Illegal. I ignored the sign and went up the stairs anyway. Our room was on the 5th floor and when I got to the 5th floor it had no handle on the door and was locked from the inside. There was no way to get to our room. I came back down and told my brother. We needed to get our stuff as all our belongings were in the room. We tried calling the hotel number but it just rang and rang, the other number went strait to voicemail. We were on our own, stuck in the hotel from hell. I said I would try the elevator again and had him wait outside in case I got stuck. I went up in the elevator again and it got stuck again between floors. this time the door did not open. I had to manually push it open and I crawled out like a cockroach. We ended up leaving and getting another hotel luckily, most were booked but we found one after hours of looking. In the morning we went back to get our stuff and the cleaning crew was there, they told us the elevator breaks every night. They helped us get into the room and get our stuff, my brother tried to get a refund but the owner is an old Asian woman who doesn't speak any English, like at all. She makes you speak into a translator on her phone and then speaks back into her translator to talk to you. Her response made absolutely no sense and she seemed to be playing dumb. We ended up just leaving as I could not stand to be in that place for another moment. This was the worst place I have ever been to in my life. It was like something out of a horror movie. This place needs to be condemned and the owner should face fraud and reckless...
Read moreThere is NOT enough words to describe the hell this place is. Arrived Saturday afternoon and it took 95 minutes to check in. This was just the beginning......
While waiting in line, MULTIPLE guest checked out due to the following reasons.
Roaches everywhere Nats or little flies flying around. Bottle of pee left in the hallway. Filthy room 1 person said there was a bucket of used condoms in her bathroom.
We continued to wait to check in because apparently it was the luck of the draw as some friends where already there and said although it is not the Westin, their room was not that bad.
We finally got the keys after sweating our butts off in the lobby. I feel sorry for their ONE employee checking everyone in and this I feel is due to having only 1 computer at the front desk.
Off the elevator of floor 6 and the smell of muskiness hits you. WOW. Make it to our room and immediately notice that the supposed queen beds we are supposed to have are clearly a full/double. 1 dead roach found. We had to take the bedspread down to show the lady at the desk as she believed we were lying. While the wife did this, I grabbed a quick shower only to be welcomed by a tub that was cracked everywhere. No fan i bathroom and MAN did it get hot quick!!
Wife makes it back and we now move to another room on floor 5. Greeted with the same smell when we got off the elevator. Room was FINALLY 2 queen beds. a quick once over and did not find any visible bugs, but we were in a hurry.
Got back after a concert in Orlando and was greeted in the garage to a weed smoking convention and Iâm afraid I would fail a piss test right now with all that I had to breathe in. Back to the room and prayed that GOD would let us live through the night without something crawling in my ear or mouth as I slept.
Woke up in the morning and survived. Brushed our teeth, got dressed and got the hell out of there.
We were greeted by several roaches as we left that wanted to know if we left them something to eat in the room. We passed by without speaking.
Checkout...... NOONE there to check you out, just a sheet to sign. I forgot to tell you, if you lose a room key card, you are charged 5 bucks each. Soooooo, without handing them to someone and given a receipt, how the heck do you prove you gave them back?? So we made a manager, who clearly did not give a SH!T, print us a receipt and sign acknowledging that she took those key cards.
The ONLY plus to this ordeal was that Krispy Kreme donuts are right beside them, but GOD forbid you bring those back to your room as you would be creating the party of ALL parties with the roach infestation there.
PLEASE do your homework before staying here. Pay the extra money to stay somewhere else. This place needs some serious bug control and updating before it is truly worthy of humans staying there.
Lastly, the elevators in the hotel themselves have expired inspections by I...
Read moreThis is by far one of the worse hotels I have ever stayed in. We checked in on a Friday, with our luggage and our dog. From the very beginning, Denise (a front desk employee) could not find our reservation, however, once she did we were checked in and were handed a room key to the third floor. Once we got to our room, we were greeted by the smell of smoke but we just assumed that we were given this room because we have a dog. Next, we walked into the bathroom and noticed the tub was filthy and once the water is turned on the entire tub leaks all on the bathroom floor. If the leaking tub wasn't enough, when you begin showering the tub actually cracks and makes you feel as if you are about to fall through the floor! Then again, it is a run down hotel that needs maintenance. Two days after we checked in, I was walking back in to the hotel with my dog, when Denise, the lady working the front desk, asked me if I had paid my pet deposit. I was caught off guard with this question, since I assumed that had already been taken care of since we had checked in TWO DAYS before, however, I said yes and went back up to my room. The next morning as I walked out of the elevator to take my dog out, I was stopped by a front desk attendant, named Brad Sullivan, inquiring about my dog's size. Brad implied that my dog was too big to be in the hotel, his exact words were, "if a dog is bigger than a shitzu, then it is not allowed", since when is a shitzu the rule of thumb for a pet's size, shouldn't have he just told me a weight restriction for pets? Not to mention, why is this just being told to me, I've already been in here multiple days? The harassment continued later that afternoon as I took my dog for another walk outside, I exited the elevator and two front desk employees, one of them who was Brad Sullivan, stopped their conversation to turn to me and my dog. Later that day, Brad Sullivan asked me if I had snuck my dog in, he did this in front of another hotel guest. I immediately started laughing and told him that it would be impossible to sneak a dog this size( she is about 30lbs) into a hotel. The guest overheard what I said and he even told Brad," you think she has a purse big enough to fit a dog in there". I have never felt more uncomfortable nor unwelcome in a hotel that prides itself on being dog friendly. I can promise you I will never stay in this...
