Before I start writing my review I would like to ask this question. FIRST, who is responsible to hire your staff? And do you train them? The reason I asked because your staff has awful communication skills, lazy, rude and donât know anything. Also, why I feel like we bother them when we walk in (Iâm not the only one / other people told me the same). I used to be with American Family Fitness and after I changed my job crunch was my only choice and I brought other 7 people with me. If you ask me what makes you go to American Family Fitness every day I would say the staff and the facility always clean the staff always friendly and they have to say something if you walk in and out . Crunch has staff who donât say anything to you when you walk in and out mostly because they are busy playing with their phones or talking to each other and sometimes donât even bother their self to turn around when you walk in. Also, the manger is one of the rudest people I ever seen in my life, he keep staring at people all the time and never smile like he come to fight you. SECOND, my question to the manger do you go to the bathroom and check it yourself? Mostly I go to the gym at night, but because I got tired going to the locker room with all the bad smell and dirty bathroom I started going in the morning and I had the same problem. Actually what bother me the most that I saw the tall guy who should clean the bathrooms bringing the cleaning card out the closet to clean the bathroom put it in the door go back and he sat down on the couch played with his phone then started to talk to the girls in the front disk for almost TWO HOURS and then go back and put the cleaning card back in the closet without cleaning anything. I was shock that the manger was there and didnât say anything about it. Also, how long it will take someone to go to check the paper towel. I guarantee wonât take them more than two minutes to change it, unless crunch want to save money and meant not to change the paper towel specially in the bathroom. I heard two guys taking about the paper towel thing and one of them said thatâs what you will get if you come to cheap gym. Paper towel something necessary at the gym and there is no excuse to anyone not to change it even if you just work in the front disk. How do you expect me to clean my machine after using it if you donât put paper towel in the dispenser? I go to the gym to relax and get healthy not to get diseases and get stress. Glenside crunch has to be reform and retrain again from the top to the bottom. They need to hire/train better management and get better and make sure their facility always clean maybe the company donât see my point now, but believe me after a while you will have bad reputation and you will lose all your costumers. All of us know that the gym all about customer service. I will change my gym anyway and my people as well, but I hate to see something wrong and not to say anything about it. I hope they will do something and I meant not to use my name. Note: I have a lot of pictures prove my points and show how the bathroom...
Read moreUpdate in reply: Crunch is a private business in the United States and does have the right to choose not to submit to government coercion from the Health Dept., if you want to get technical. This is a willing decision by Crunch that factually alters the quality of my gym experience and, as it intermittently restricts healthy breathing during rest periods from vigorous cardio activity, it also threatens my well-being. Constant removal and re-application of masks by dirty hands in between touching all the equipment makes this policy not only ineffective , but also quite oxymoronic. Doesn't sound like the gym that's advertised as a promoter of wellness and health & fitness; actually doesn't sound like a gym or health club at all. I'm sympathetic to the bind the government and terrible politicians have put your business and employees in but whatever agreements Crunch made to stay operable, why would they not have planned to at least be decent in outlier situations and waive on a case by case situation? No, they want to brush off the consumer and hide behind the contract. I will be by tomorrow in order to hand off a letter only, regarding this matter and we'll go through the appropriate processes. Thanks.
Joined two months ago when masks were not required. Despite any proof that masks are effective and an abundance of proof that people cough into their masks, touch other things, then touch the inside of their mask, and consider that cloth masks are permeable both ways, Crunch is deciding to now enforce a policy of wearing a mask between exercise equipment but not while exercising. The cognitive dissonance required to make such a patently absurd requirement boggles the mind. I know they are trying to placate the RUBES who think masks are magical but this is NOT what I signed up for. I don't believe ordinances or requirements from the health department have anything to do with the contract both parties agreed to; Crunch fitness is a private business and can choose whether to comply or not but if Crunch is planning on enforcing this out of the blue one day, as Crunch did (there was not even a mention of this yesterday), crunch should have been prepared to allow members to cancel without an annual fee as services will not be rendered as agreed upon in the contract; i.e. this is not what I signed up for as the entire gym environment is different and now requiring me to cover my mouth and nose during rigorous cardio exercise which is detrimental to my health, fitness, respiratory system and a threat to my overall wellness. This is absolutely low-class, sleazy business and terrible customer service. When I asked for phone numbers or email addresses, the GM told me they're "not allowed to give out that information" LOL really, Crunch?? I hope someone from Corporate sees this and can come out of hiding to assist me. If you can't assist me, please get me in touch with...
Read moreI went to crunch to cancel my membership which I've had for 5 days. The manager was rude and wouldn't let me cancel, which I don't understand because I never signed a binding contract and if I did it certainly wasn't gone over with me BY ANY MEANS. I signed three initial here lines which were all done on a computer and told that i could cancel anytime as long as it was before 10 days of the monthly payment. They said that there would be some annual fee but since I had only come once for one hour and was in the middle of a severe circumstance I thought the manager might be understanding. The sales person was rude getting him and when he came out he was defensive and immediately refused to help me, insisting that I knew what I signed. NOPE. Your idiot 17 year old associates make the program very difficult to understand. Esspecially the stuttering, awkward red haired girl. He proceeded to tell me what he could do for me. Which was drop some ludicrous $49.99 fee to change my memebership from the peak plus to the lowest membership possible. He refused to listen and seemed annoyed that I didn't understand and started talking about what he couldn't do legally. I got so annoyed by this condescending jerk "manager" that I walked away and left the store. (At this point I just decided to cancel my card and to let that be that. I understand being railroaded by a business and my daughter didn't need to see this exchange anyways.) Now I can understand how signing up without completely understanding what I signed can be my fault. I accept responsibility for that BUT AFTER I LEFT THE GYM the manager proceeded to FOLLOW me to my car and stand a car length away from me while I put my one year old daughter in her car seat. I asked him to leave me alone and to not approach my vehicle seeing as how I had left the gym and was now no longer on their property. He continued to harass me and sarcastically asked what he had done to offend me. This was absolutely ridiculous, I have never had to deal with any "manager" FOLLOWING me out of the building to my car. Especially a grown adult male. This is HARRASMENT and I was crying when I left because I was scared! All I wanted to do was cancel my membership -that wasn't explained to me AT ALL- that I had used for LESS THAN AN HOUR in the five days I was a member. I will never go to crunch again. The sales and customer service people are rude, incredibly untrained and the management is psychotic. DON'T...
