When should a person look at their inventory and realize that it simply isn't selling and ask themselves why??? If you decide to go there and find something you think you can't go without, a piece of advice. If the price he gives you is a high, which it probably will be, don't comment on it! Simply smile, nod your head and politely walk away. If you question his price he will begin his rants about that not being Goodwill or other thrift store. He is correct, every Goodwill I have shopped has the price clearly marked and I didn't have to dig through dusty mound of crap to get to it. Even Goodwill has clearance events (% off color tags) to sell through older product making room for "new" stuff. Maybe he should start running his store like a Goodwill since most of their product has been donated as well. If you do make a purchase ask to test it before you leave, if you don't and it doesn't work you are rewarded with store credit. For those reviews about being new and asking for assistance in putting together a system, I feel for you the most. I stood by and listened as the prices being quoted to a technologically uneducated customer became higher than new prices. if you look around on Craigslist and Ebay I assure you there will be better items at far lesser prices. My last visit was my last visit. After bringing my 13year old daughter to see if there was anything I couldn't live without, we dug through stuff for over an hour to find 3 dual NICs and a switch. When I purchased switches at other times I was given the price of $15-$20 and the NICs I figured should be about $5 each. I placed my 4 items on the counter suggested a total of $30 for all of it. He simply looked at me like I was an idiot and turned to his computer for Ebay. I attempted to explain my prior purchases and this one was put out in 2001, so it was a bit older than the others (there was nothing special about it.) He looked at me and stated that sometimes the older ones are worth more... I couldn't believe this. If it was worth more, I would hope that he, as a qualified computer technician, would know already and why it was worth more. Nope! I attempted to explain that Ebay should not be used as their method of pricing but he didn't care, he again turned to Ebay. I "politely" told him I was leaving and I would not be returning. A note to the owner for my daughter... Smoking 25 feet away from a business entrance is a law and it does apply to your business. She didn't appreciate your husbands smoke filling her nose INSIDE the store.

I drove to SBK where I was greeted with a friendly smile and shelves of well organized and PRICED items. I picked up: PoE Switch $20 NICs $5 Misc...

The owners of this establishment are extremely rude and greedy!!!

They get everything they have for free, which is fine, but when you're reselling it, atleast put a reasonable price on the product and not a price that is above what it would cost new.

I have worked in I.T. my whole life and never have I ever been treated so badly in any recycling center or computer store/shop.

Due to the way I was treated by the owner and his wife after making a counter offer, I will never come here again.

I was interested in purchasing a motherboard that was selling on ebay for $30 (at sold/completed listing price), they wanted $119 for the used motherboard and refused to budge on the price even after showing them multiple instances of the price being extremely high.

I was very nice to these people and did not argue, but the way they treated me cannot be ignored.

Another sad thing I noticed is that they rarely give anyone any receipts, two customers ahead of me left without one.

It is my belief that they are not recording transactions properly.

Do not donate your equipment to them and do not purchase from them, they are not nice people, they are very greedy and they will rip you off and not refund you on a defective item.

The positive reviews for this business are obviously fake and the guy who owns his own computer company talking about how generous these people are is also a scammer.

In no way are the prices here even close to being reasonable.

I've been in IT for over 15 years and also collect and repair arcade games, and thought this may be a great place to shop for some of the oddball parts I needed here and there. Not any more. I've been here several times and the guy that's usually there is dismissive, rude and obviously has better things to do than be helpful.

Here's a Pro Tip: When you have a customer in the store asking you questions about something they're willing to spend money on, take a moment to stop polishing the small piece of plastic that you're so feverishly working on, make eye contact, and actually talk to said customer.

What kills me is that this place was on my short list as a destination for my $20-28k in equipment that I surplus every year. Thank you for making it clear that I should continue to take my business, both personal and professional, to other surplus centers (RE-PC, for example) who realize that customers and customer service...
