Express Recycling & Collections Inc. — Attraction in Lakewood

I've been a regular at Bellflower Recycling Center for years. Not anymore!

Express Recycling is located behind Grocery Outlet/Ross. I've seen the signs before, but never thought about coming here. After seeing some people post they offer top dollar for cans & plastic, not to mention payment comes via check, I thought I'd give this place a try.

When I arrived, I quickly loaded up my cans & plastic in the bins & was second in line. My items were weighed, I gave my driver's license and signed for my check. A cool $52 & change in hand, and I was expeditiously on my way.

Express Recycling is head & shoulders above Bellflower Recycling Center. First, the cleanliness. At Bellflower, plastic bottle tops & other trash litter the ground. Here at Express, plastic is accepted with tops on, although I always take the tops off out of habit. The parking lot was clean, for the most part. Second, no big lines. Bellflower can be 10-20 people deep at times. Not a problem here. Third, the noise. Over at Bellflower, sounds of clanking bottles & cans cause some serious noise pollution. I have sensitive hearing after years of driving with the subwoofer bumping in my old 323 of yesteryear. Because of the lesser amount of people, my abused ears are spared needless torment. Lastly, the time saved makes recycling less of a hassle than it needs to be. I was in & out, and thankful for it.

Express Recycling is now my destination for recycling. Receiving payment via check is more hygienic than cash, I can quickly stop by and not spend a lot of time & the cleanliness of the operation are all reasons why I recommend everyone local make Express Recycling their recycling...

Fast, Friendly, Higher Rates, and I would like to also add that there lunch hours are from 12:30pm to 1:30pm and although I showed up as he was about to leave for lunch the young man still turned his car off got out and helped me with service and I liked to say that he is a very nice sweet patient courteous young gentleman who did not mind in me cutting in on his lunch time when he really did not have to. It took 3 minutes and I thanked him and also apologized for showing up when I did because technically he has the right to get his lunch in at hat time. So just make sure to not go at...
