The North Coast College, humbly known as "The NCC", is a place for students who are passionate about learning, where they can take charge of advancing in their career path or simply changing paths altogether. This is a place where individuals who are not afraid to work hard in order to achieve their personal and professional goals. As a professional Office Assistant with nearly 30 years of corporate administration, I was not happy with my career and wanted to take a leap of faith to change and The NCC made it possible for me to do just that. By providing individualized attention in order for me to work thru my assignments, I am doing what I thought was impossible at my age. They not only offer great opportunities for students to advance in class. But they take great pride in engaging each and every one of their students in and out of the classroom setting without intimidation and with respect to each individual mind. I look forward to completing my studies in Graphic Design and in fact have considered extending my Associate degree to a Bachelor degree. I encourage anyone ready this post to come...
Read moreI started attending The North Coast College back when it was known as Virginia Marti. I was there through the transition, and graduated with a Bachelors in Graphic Design. The school is small, but that is what I like about it. Because of the small class sizes you get to form real connections with your instructors and can get one on one help when you need it.
I will say that most of the instructors expect you to come prepared with at least the basic knoweldge of the design software that you will be using, but are still more than happy to walk you through the things that you may not know. All of the instructors that I've had have shown a great deal of knowledge and insight into the graphic design profession.
This is a school to hone your design skills. I have seen students come in who at first could barely draw a stick figure but have left knowing how to draw human forms. But if your intentions are to just skate by and do the bare minimum then I suggest finding a...
Read moreThis school is beautiful. It's easy to navigate and the staff is incredibly friendly. Small class sizes mean each student gets the attention they need and deserve from instructors. Classes go on for ten weeks at time with three week breaks between quarters. There are several majors to choose from and it is easy to switch which major you are taking if you decide to. The projects are challenging and exciting. I encourage anyone interested in a major in art or design to check out Virginia Marti College of Art and Design where the staff is friendly and the students are fantastic and talented individuals. One of the best parts of attending is that you don't need to have any previous knowledge or experience in art because they will teach you everything you...
