DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!!!! I have absolutely NO IDEA how this place has 3 stars. I was understanding at first, short staffing blows, and sometimes policies / management hinders employees ability to accommodate in the way the consumer would like. But this place was seriously RIDICULOUS. We arrived at 2:30ish, there was no check in time specified on my reservation (booked via TicketsAtWork) so I googled it. Google said 3, well we got there to ask for early check in as we do at many other places. If it isn’t ready to check in, that is never a big deal. We were told the room was ready but check in was at 4 and they charge a $20 fee to check in early. We had planned on going to lunch after dropping our stuff but with the fee we just took our stuff and went to lunch before checking in to avoid paying the fee (which maybe I haven’t gone to enough places, but I have never been charged a fee for early check in. If the room is ready, it’s ready.). When we got back there was someone different behind the desk. They charged my card $74.54 for a deposit, which was not the price of my reservation which I checked because the number seemed odd to me. I will update if they try to charge it to me or not but I have a suspicion they will try. It took 30+ minutes to get checked into our first room. Yes first. I overheard the desk clerk on the phone with a clerk at a partner inn (because their system was also down so they were basically operating out of another hotel at that point, again I gave grace for this), when the guy at the other hotel told the clerk in front of us that the room was showing dirty in the system our clerk insisted that the room was clean and to bring the paperwork and he would write in the room number. Well SEVERAL minutes later we were checked into that room and it had not been touched since the last guest left. So we proceeded to wait 30 more minutes to get a new room, which they sent us up to without the key initially but found the key before we went up the stairs. We didn’t need it though, as the room was being held open by a vacuum cleaner. If a vacuum cleaner is holding open the room, i’m sorry but i have no way to verify that it is entirely clean. Are you finished with it or is it open because you are still cleaning? No idea because the housekeeping staff was nowhere to be found with the carts and laundry bags and trash from the rooms cluttering the hallway to the point we could not wheel our suitcase, we had to carry it. There was also no fridge in our room so if we were to stay there our food would have all spoiled. Needless to say we returned the key and are now driving to our next destination a night early. I am not sure what happened with this visit but it was not up to our standards at all. We are not picky and stayed in a similar place just a few nights ago. I don’t mind a smaller hotel as long as the staff is accommodating and friendly and the place is clean. I don’t think the stairs to the second floor of this hotel have been vacuumed in a year. There was dried spills on the stair carpet. This is really not a clean place and the older man who checked us in went as far to gaslight us when we said we did not want to stay there. He told us the housekeeping got there late to start and that is the cause of the issues and they were trying to get everything comfortable for us. I recognize the effort but the staff being late is not my problem. I am just baffled that they offered us a $20 early check in fee just for us to return at check in and our room was dirty! WHAT?? Anyways everyone, hopefully I have saved one of you $86 because I’m not getting mine back. DISCLAIMER!! There was one man there who was working his butt off running between both hotels and with the limited tools I assume he had available, he was doing a really great job and I really appreciated...
Read moreYesterday evening myself and 4 of my friends rented room 114, a suite. We were coming from a concert that evening, and had multiple other friends who also rented a room at the Cleveland Lakewood Travelodge that evening. Upon arrival, we gathered in the room I rented to wind down for the evening. Shortly after, a security guard knocked on our door and informed us that we were not allowed to have more than 4 people in the room. All of the other guests promptly returned to their rented rooms. We had 5 people in our party, and the reason we rented the suite was to have the fold out couch to sleep the 5th guest. When we checked in all 5 people were present, nothing was said to us about a 4 person limit to the room. We explained this to security, but he would not listen. He stated that if we did not have 4 people or less in the room in the next 10 minutes, the police would be called. We had no other options for our extra guest, it was late in the evening and he was from Indianapolis, so we had no way to remove him from the room. Shortly after, the police arrive. The police say nothing about any disturbance, site no disorderly conduct on our part of any of the other guests we were associated with. The police agree that it seems unreasonable to force one of our guests onto the street, and the front desk agrees to allow us to have 5 people. The police leave, and shortly after, a few of us head up to the second floor to discuss logistics with our friends in their room. On our way up, security informs us that we are not to enter their room, and if we do, the cops would be called again. This is absurd and unreasonable, we were not entering their room uninvited or without consent, so we ignored this threat. The security guard followed up upstairs and proceeded to videotape the doorway to the room the entire time we were there. Shortly after we returned to our room and went to sleep. A short time later, we were awoken by the police and instructed to vacate the premises. Not only were we evicted, but our friends on the second floor were evicted, and another couple associated with us who had no part in any drama caused by the security guard were evicted from their room as well. We were told we were evicted because we disobeyed the instructions not to enter our friends room. I will reiterate that the police noted no damages to any of the rooms, no disorderly conduct on our part, no noise. They even gave a subtle admission that they believed the eviction to be unreasonable, but that by law, the hotel did not need any justification, and could evict us at any time for any reason, or no reason at all. We are all traveling musicians who stay in hotels in large groups multiple times a month. Never in the 200+ hotel stays I have enjoyed in the last 10 years have I ever been harassed in this way, had to deal with the police, or been evicted onto the street at 3:30 in the morning. I have no idea what would cause something like this to transpire, and can come to no other reasonable explanation other than this was some sort of strange personal vandetta against us by the security guard and front desk attendant. Avoid this hotel at all costs, or risk subjecting your friends and family to harassment or worse by the...
Read moreI’m in extensive travel or as I’ve been working in business for the last 12 years in the financial industry and I must say that during these time of crisis after I had an extremely Trumatic experience involving a collision with another vehicle in the hospital visit I showed up at this hospital with a room booked except for instead of the night I was anticipating on staying ended up being the next check in day because of the confusing Expedia format Regardless of this I was met by a very accommodating front desk receptionist who tried as hard as she could to accommodate my needs in switching The rooms without me being charged but needed a supervisors approval to do so in Kim to find the supervisor was at the bar down the street and would not speak with me or my Expedia representative over the phone and would not even give me the name or contact information of who I can talk to to resolve the matter. I had now have paid for two nights in a $20 cancellation fee some mouse conclude into my bill as well which is the cherry on top. I must say I have never been so insulted or discuss it in my life and I amNo I want to retaliate but I promise I will put all my energy into locating in making sure that the supervisor who is running that facility is dealt with by the administration or board on the hospitality institutions regulations service. If someone could please help me with some information I would be more than happy to literally pay them $100 just so I can make sure that the disgusting in horrific display of discourteous professionalism is never subjected to another person that is paying for the service this hotel does not provide work will gladly charged for. I will also be contacting my lawyer against Expedia because they refused to refund my payment for servicesThey are not providing me. I don’t mean to whine but I am a veteran of Guinness Dan and I came back with a very Trumatic mental stress condition which is not just push through stress better dystocia to have disorder that has made me very sensitive when it comes to confrontation and I almost threw up when I got to my room. If anyone would like to verify my accountability I will be happy to respond and give you my contact information so that you understand I am not a jerk trying to cause a ruckus but a professional who is now a victim of what I would consider that the most heinous type of fraud one could ask for and that is fraud within a hospitality industry based around it’s customer service appreciation and...
