I just visited today within the last hour.
While Googling a breakfast diner in a neighborhood I'm becoming familiar with, I saw this place. The reviews here were great and informative--cash only, ATM available within. I was skeptical about trying a neighborhood restaurant for several reasons, but I decided to give them a try. I phoned in my order for a family of four, and the lady who answered was pleasant, patient, explained the menu options, quoted a time frame for pickup, and the final cost. I went, parked in front of the street, the place looked cleaned, the order was ready, very reasonably priced, she was still kind in person and so was the gentleman. It looked like a nice "little" quaint, home style environment. My family and I enjoyed the food.
I look forward to a dine in experience, although I didn't see anyone that resembled me. Sometimes, under that circumstance, I often have not felt welcomed. So, I'll give another review after I dine in, and then I'll rate the atmosphere. Dining out for breakfast has been my thing for many years. This could become my go-to spot. I'd definitely say it's worth a visit. 😋😋😋
Update: Visited a couple more times. Got many stares of shock like I was not welcome there. And the man waited on me one time. He didn't smile, say hello, or thank you. I believe I have too much melanin to receive great service. The lady at the register was nice but nicer...
Read moreShore Restaurant is not fond of BLACK PEOPLE! From the moment we walked in and sat down at the counter, the waitress (who had to make it a point that she’s been doing this for 40 years) attitude toward us was horrible and got worse! After having to tell her that I wanted a orange juice (because she never asked), she took other patrons order who came in after we did! We were the only black patrons there! After expressing my issue to her as to why she was taking other patrons orders and not ours, she became angry and stated, “I don’t want any trouble!” So I was being a trouble maker for asking why our order wasn’t taken before others who had came after us! She never even asked us if we were ready to order! HORRIBLE service! It’s clear that she is BURNT OUT from taking breakfast orders for 40 years and it shows! If you don’t like black people or are burnt out in your job that deals with the public and customer service, then you should retire or get out of the business! I would not recommend this place to anyone! Black or white! You will probably get better service if you are...
Read moreThe Shore Restaurant in Lakewood, Ohio, is a warm and welcoming place, much like the homesteads of old, where neighbors gathered and shared simple, hearty meals. This family-owned establishment offers a genuine hospitality that makes you feel right at home the moment you step through the door. The breakfast is wholesome and satisfying, the kind that nourishes both body and spirit, with fresh eggs, crispy bacon, and warm, fluffy pancakes that remind you of mornings spent around the family table. Lunch is equally delightful, with sandwiches and soups that are made with care and taste like they’ve come straight from Ma’s kitchen. In a world that often feels too fast and too far from the values of yesteryear, The Shore is a comforting reminder of the importance of good food, family, and the simple joys that make life...
