I like learning about the history of the area, the hot springs and the families that owned the land and the hotel. The spring contains sulfur so the area is kind of stinky. Plus the water treatment plant is located close by and contributes to the smell of the area. And I was amazed by the number of termite tunnels that criss-cross the majority of the land at the Hannah sculpture garden. I wonder if the people that live in the wood frame houses surrounding the sculpture garden no how many millions of termites live in the sculpture garden. I like the sculptures. ... interesting and unique. I think I have taken more time to look at them had they been in a more pleasant smelling environment.

A very nice place for a solar eclipse and some varied interesting art. There is a small monarch butterfly garden from an Eagle Scout project that helps with the stench near by. I think the smell is from the small stagnant water drainage it seems. The art sculptures are fun and varied. There was ton of parking during the eclipse so there should be plenty any other time.

The sculptures were cool. The place was over run by ants. It felt really unsafe to let my toddler fun around out there. I was worried if she strayed off the path, which you have to do to read the plaques on the sculptures, that she would get eaten up by ants. Also, the paint was peeling on a lot of the sculptures, so it looked a bit dilapidated.

There are 2 parks one called Sculpture Garden has sculpture and a swimming pool . The one across the street is called Nature Park. It is not mowed or beautified. It simply exhibits nature at its fullest and best. It shows what Lampasas was like before it was civilized. The BBQ cook off is there each year in just a piece of the nature park. That is where I am now. Many people with tents carts BBQ pits are here cooking for the coveted 1st prize which will be announced at 5pm. The cookoff is a 2 day affair starting Friday at 8am. My son in law which owns LEGACY AWNING ON PECAN STREET is...

This was a neat little stop for us. They were in the middle of creating nice cement sidewalks, so we had to walk around in the muddy grass (which was fine). Some exhibits are permanent fixtures; some are for sale.

There is not a ton of shade, but it is available, as are park benches. Worth the stop of you have a little time.

This park is literally right across the street from another neat little place we didn't have time for. It may have had short paths through wildflowers, but I am...
