One of THE BEST Museums my family has ever visited and believe me, we have been to A LOT. First of all, there's a lot to see. A couple of them are interactive exhibits. With supervision and help from one of the gentlemen who was working, the kids were able to learn how to use a rotary telephone and a typewriter. They gave the children several scavenger hunts and whenever they completed a scavenger hunt and got everything correct they were given honey sticks and coupons for the ice cream parlor around the corner. They also got to search for a little badger that left his home. This just made our day! We learned all about Lampasas history. Go badgers! The staff is the absolute best! They were all so kind and I loved how they interacted with my children. The gift shop is pretty big and has a good selection of items to choose from. My son picked out a harmonica which he has been really enjoying since the moment he got it. We ate lunch at Eve's Cafe after we finished up at the museum and he continued to lay his music upon the ears of everyone in the restaurant. 😂 He sang his little heart out with that harmonica so we sent him to the patio while we continued to eat and people actually dropped money in his hat. The town of Lampasas donated many interesting items like a 1921 Piggly Wiggly store refrigerator, 1950 bank teller machines, and old kitchen stoves, and a lot more interesting artifacts.
