Johnston's Hardware — Attraction in Las Cruces

Fantastic customer service! I needed a roof coating I couldn't find anywhere else in town. I found it here.

As soon as I walked in, a young man was ready to help me. I showed him on my phone what I was looking for, and he led me right to it.

I hadn't seen the parking area when I drove by, and had ended up parked at the end of the block. The pail of roof coating is quite heavy, so I went to fetch my car. By the time I got back, the young man had carried the bucket to the checkout area for me. Another pleasant young man completed the transaction. Then the first young man carried the heavy bucket out to my car. Such great service! I really appreciate this place and the folks...

I’m not from Las Cruces, but visiting friends near and doing routine maintenance on our motor home before moving on. I’ve been in Johnston’s Ace Hardware twice now, and literally from the time I walk in the door until I’m out the door the employees are literally the friendliest, most helpful I’ve found anywhere I’ve ever been. Tell them what you want/need and they are amazing! This second trip the first employee realized it wasn’t in his expertise, involved another employee and together quickly resolved my hardware issue and I was out the door. It's so close to my house so I go for convenience, but everytime I go in I get irritated by a staff person. Today at 11:30 the young male cashier took a nasty condescending tone with me. He rang up the guy in front of me for $7.00 for some paint brushes, guy decided to walk away. He then rang up my items and the paint brushes were showing up as being a part of my items from my point of view from the register. I asked him about it and instead of saying " no ma'am it is not included in your total he said "I dont know what you are looking at but no I have $48.49"....
