I live close to this park and use it on just about a daily basis. They have a sidewalk that goes all the way around the park. They do have rules that can be spotted and read for everyone's safety. You should know that covid-19 rules are still in effect. Do to the different areas security will help enforce the issue though kindly. Along with the walking section of the park you'll easily notice sections gated off. These are for owners of small dogs and large dogs alike. They can run w/or w/o leashes. Though this rule is optional dog handlers are required to have leashes at hand just in case a dog gets out of a hand. Understand that in these areas small dogs are aloud to run with big dogs and besides handlers/owners need to be aware that children are in these areas also. As our temperatures change PLEASE remember to bring water for your dog and yourself. There are water fountains in these areas in case you've brought a bowl but have forgotten the water. This park has well lit areas for those folks that might be walking or taking a jog. Please remember to always be aware of your surroundings and stay safe. If you want to pet a dog ask the owner first especially where children are known to just run up and play. The furthest thing anyone wants it for children, dogs or there owners to get hurt so PLEASE keep up with all signs posted. These are to keep all friends of parks safe and returning for more fun. Stay hydrated, safe and I hope you continue enjoying this park on N Tenaya and W Alexander Rds. If you feel you'd like to share your experience with others, please do. Always Enjoy, David...
Read moreWent today for the first time and probably the last. The "big dog" area which means dogs over 25 lbs (mine is 40 lbs) was filled with aggressive dogs owned by "oh he's fine" moms and dads. After one extremely aggressive (although its mom denies this) bullied my dog while he was getting to know another, his mom was nowhere in sight!! Another dog owner had to discipline him! She then came over to give me advise "oh let him go, they'll see you're nervous and then he'll be nervous and they'll attack". Excuse me, my dog was minding his business with another dog and YOUR dog was aggressive, coming from nowhere so I don't need your advise. Then she goes on to tell me how much trouble her dog has gotten her into, and your dog isn't aggressive?!? Within 5 minutes, there was a group of dogs that attacked another dog behind me. Approximately 10-12 dogs attacking and then you see 5-6 owners all trying to get there dogs off!! No freaking way!! I've been to dozens of dog parks, runs and walking areas over the years, this was an aggressive free for all. I then took my dog over to the small dog fenced area and it was so much better. There were fewer dogs who were so much better behaved (I blame the parents "oh not my child" syndrome) and the owners were so nice. They told me stories of dogs getting attacked, puppies requiring medical attention etc from the other side. I'm new to the area and will look for another park. My pup is sweet and just wants to play and be social, not...
Read moreAfter living in Vegas for three miserable years, and trying every dog park within a 40 mile radius, I am so happy to say I found this park! There’s nothing fancy about it. Doesn’t offer you anything that any normal park wouldn’t. However I find it incredible enough that I drive 35 minutes one way every Saturday and Sunday morning just so that I could take my dogs here. Why? Because it’s out in the middle of nowhere, so, God for bid, some idiot leaves the gate open, (like they do every single time I’m at sunset in Henderson) your dog can’t really go anywhere that you couldn’t see him. It’s all wide-open spaces. No chance of being hit by a car either. The dog park itself has a fantastic impenetrable fence all the way around, not to mention the people who bring their dogs there are generally older and know how to shut the gate behind them. That being said, I haven’t had to cuss anybody out over there yet. Its clean and the views are spectacular. I think it’s just as much fun for me as it is...
