I enjoy visiting this park and generally feel safe at all times but after today my guard has definitely gone up.
I love taking my dog here for early morning walks or evenings when the hot sun is about to set. It's a high traffic area where families come to spend quality time but unfortunately there is a huge lack in security. Most park goers visit for the dog parks since it's one of the greenest in the city.
The parking lot on Tenaya and Alexander is typically full at all times and only hold about 10-12 cars max. Additional parking can be found further west along Alexander but requires a longer walk to the dog area. There is no surveillance or CCTV monitoring both parking lots which warrant major safety issues. During my visit, my car was broken into and wasn't the only one. Park goers warned me and explained that this isn't the first time this has happened.
Car break-ins have allegedly become rampant in the past 9 months. With no security or safety measures in motion, how are we supposed to feel when we fall victim to senseless crimes like this?
To whomever maintains and manages this park please help the community by building safety measures that'll help victims catch perpetrators! Security and surveillance cameras would be a step in a...

Next to the green park is a basin with soccer fields and a dog park, and there's a nice paved ealking/jogging trail around the rest of the block. Then, cross Buckskin and you enter another green park with several shaded picnic tables and another winding path around it.
Then on the Tenaya side is another catch basin and a wide gravel path down whatever road that is - Gowan maybe? - and then a paved path along Tenaya.
I normally do a sort of figure eight around the two, and it's good for about 7000 steps (I...
Read moreExtremely pleasant park. Useful for individuals, everything being equal. Canine parks, horseshoe region, verdant open space, track, spots to sit, tennis courts, skateboard park, youngsters play park, and a colossal path for strolling. My family and I go each week and it never dissapoints. Profoundly recommend, a wide range of activities, and lovely trees and view. Be careful on Monday mornings, the sprinklers are on, so turf/track will be wet and get splashed on in select regions, for timeframes. In any case, love this stop and...
