Fresh, Friendly, and Local at Dutch Country Farmer’s Market – Laurel, MD

As a frequent shopper, Dutch Country Farmer’s Market in Laurel, Maryland consistently delivers a bright, delicious, and genuinely local shopping experience. It’s the kind of market that makes you want to plan weekly trips for seasonal produce, tasty treats, and friendly chats with the farmers.

What makes it stand out Local, fresh produce: The stalls are filled with seasonal fruits and vegetables that look picked-at-their-peak fresh. It’s amazing how vibrant the produce stays from market-day to kitchen-counter. Delights beyond produce: In addition to fruits and veggies, you’ll find homemade jams, artisanal bread, local dairy, honey, and ready-to-eat specialties that make it easy to assemble a tasty meal or picnic in minutes. Knowledgeable, welcoming vendors: The farmers and shopkeepers are always eager to share growing tips, recipe ideas, and background on their products. Their passion for what they grow and sell shines through. Friendly, community vibe: The market feels like a neighborhood gathering—neighbors catching up, kids exploring, and families loading up healthy favorites for the week. It’s a shopping trip that also feels like a social event. Value and quality: Prices are fair for the quality and freshness, and the abundance means you can experiment with new ingredients without overspending.

Favorite finds I keep returning for Peak-season produce: Heirloom tomatoes, berries, greens, and herbs that elevate everyday meals. Homemade goods: Artisan bread, preserves, honey, and local cheeses that pair perfectly with a simple lunch or cheese board. Quick bites and snacks: Ready-to-eat treats for a busy day or a casual, delicious detour during errands.

Ambience and experience Family-friendly and convenient: The layout is easy to navigate, with ample parking and accessible paths that welcome shoppers of all ages. Fresh air and smiles: It’s a pleasant outdoor shopping experience that still feels organized and safe, with a friendly, small-town market energy.

Practical tips Go early for the best selection and the freshest picks. Bring reusable bags to reduce waste and help with transport. Bring a cooler for cold items if you’re buying dairy, meat, or perishable goods. Check for vendor rotations or new seasonal items weekly—there’s always something new to discover.

Bottom line Dutch Country Farmer’s Market in Laurel, Maryland is a cornerstone for fresh, local foods and community connection. It’s ideal for families, busy professionals, and anyone who loves supporting local agriculture while bringing home high-quality ingredients and homemade treats. Highly recommended for weekly produce hauls, spontaneous tastings, and a cheerful, reliable source of...

If I could give Dutch Country Farmers Market more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. This place is a total treasure and hands-down one of our favorite spots to visit. From the moment you walk in, it’s like a wonderland of delicious smells and incredible homemade food everywhere you turn.

We started with the brisket and pulled pork, and I’m not exaggerating when I say it was some of the best we’ve ever had. The meat was insanely tender, juicy, and full of smoky flavor- it practically melted in our mouths. You have to get their BBQ sauce- I was skeptical at first bc I’m picky, but OMG this was SO GOOD. I want the recipe!!!! Just thinking about it makes me want to go back immediately.

Then came the baked goods- and WOW. It felt like every cookie, pie, bread, and cake you could ever dream of was right there. There’s truly something for everyone, and everything looked (and tasted) incredibly fresh. We also found some fun, sweet treats like caramel-covered apples, chocolate-covered bacon, and buttery toffee- there’s so much to choose from!

But the absolute showstopper? The doughnuts. These are not your average doughnuts- they are massive, fluffy, super fresh, and generously filled. The flavor choices are so creative, and each one we tried was better than the last. Honestly, they make Dunkin’ and Krispy Kreme seem like amateurs. And the best part? The prices were shockingly affordable- half a dozen doughnuts cost less than what you’d pay at a chain, but with 10x the size and flavor.

Yes, it can get pretty busy on weekends, but the energy is part of the charm- and it’s 1000% worth braving the crowds. Every vendor is friendly, helpful, and you can feel the pride they take in their work. Dutch Country Farmers Market isn’t just a place to shop-it’s an experience. One you’ll want to come back to again and again. We already planning the next...

Not sure why I waited so long to visit the Dutch Country Farmer’s Market in Laurel, but I’m high key obsessed 🤩 I took my mom there the other day, and we had so much fun eating all the things. Here were some of our FAVE eats from the day: ▪️Garlic Pretzel & Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel: Oh. My. Goodness. These were low key lifechanging. Easily some of the best pretzels I’ve ever had. They were about $2.50 each, and I honestly can’t recommend them enough. The garlic was so good. But then the cinnamon sugar was so good, too. I don’t know - just get them both. I promise you’ll love them. ▪️Peach Cheese Danish ($2.91): another banger. This peach cheese pastry was perfection! I can’t wait to go and try their other flavors as well. Def wanna get the blueberry next! ▪️Spicy wings (5 for $8): These were pretty awesome! They weren’t spicy (for me), but I thought they were seasoned nicely. I would 100% get this again - and FYI, they have some affordable lunch specials there so make sure you swing by. I can’t wait to go back and try more, lol. Tell me about your favorite eats there, Nomsters 🙂 📍9701 Fort Meade Road, Laurel ⏰Th 9-6pm, Fr 8:30-6pm, Sa 8-3pm #laurel #laurelmd #mdfood #marylandfood #mdliving #farmersmarket
