I like how extensive the book collection is here, and the building lay out is great. I've come here and interacted with staff at least 4 separate occassions and almost every time there is an unnecessary level of rudeness/hostility from the older women working here. I don't know if it's a bias situation or just their personalities, but I'll always opt for other branch locations because of it
Edit: Tried this branch again to get something printed and was berated by the Reference Desk employee for asking why I was being charged for more than one sheet only to find that he printed my email asking for my document to be printed in addition to the document itself. The worker was very unprofessional and made an offhand comment on how I couldn't even afford the extra 10¢ (for a document no one asked him to print) then made a scene so another librarian added in. Even after recognizing his mistake, he made no effort to apologize or shift his rude attitude. Wish I could have the size and comfort of this location without the incompetence and rudeness of most...
Read moreThe Mercer County Library Lawrence Headquarters Branch is an incredible resource for families with young children, offering a variety of free, high-quality programs. Every Monday, my granddaughter attends Story Time with Miss Molly, whose engaging storytelling, songs, and crafts make reading fun and interactive for kids. Afterward, the Sensory program led by Miss Lauren introduces new educational themes each week, from exploring insects to learning about vegetables through hands-on activities.
Both Miss Molly and Miss Lauren create a welcoming environment as well as Miss Sonia, all who make an enriching environment that encourages curiosity and learning. These programs are open to all families with children up to age five, show how much our library values early childhood development and community. We’re truly grateful for the opportunities...
Read moreThis is a fantastic library and my family and I have been to many. The staff at this location is always friendly, accommodating, truly helpful and always looking for ways to engage the community. The kids section is large and is set up in such a way where the books are very accessible and easy to view. Very large selection of books and what I love best is that this library is connected to all the other Mercer County libraries so we can pick up books here and drop off in West Windsor, Ewing, Hopewell, etc and all is good. Highly recommend parents introduce their kids to reading through...
