The baseball program at Dacula Park is unfortunately lacking in several key areas. Despite the potential for positive impact on the children involved, the program suffers from inadequate management and oversight. While not all board members may be responsible, the overall lack of initiative for improvement is disheartening. With teams typically limited to only nine players, the absence of even one or two individuals can severely hinder game participation. Communication within the program is subpar, often resulting in important updates being conveyed last minute. In comparison to other parks, where there is evident investment in player development, superior uniforms, and consistent communication via various platforms including email and social media, this park falls short. Furthermore, the prevalence of unsupervised high school students utilizing the park as a hangout spot, particularly given its proximity to the local high school, raises concerns about safety and proper park utilization. While I have a fondness for this park, the shortcomings of the baseball program have led me to reconsider...
Read moreOldie but a goodie! (Focus on playground for kids) Basically describes this park/playground. It has plenty of well groomed athletic fields.
The playground is great. The best feature I like is that it has a rubber compound flooring. This is great for those learning to walk so that falling down doesn't involve scrapes and splinters! Now it is quite old and the rubber comes up in a lot of spots but I still prefer the rubber surface. It's one of the only parks in this area that has that. I also love that the entire perimeter of the play area is blocked with a 3 foot cement wall. It allows the kids to wander without constantly making their way to the parking lot/fields! Otherwise it has a nice toddler playset with short slides and activities and a great kindergarten playset with big slides and a climbing wall. You can tell everything is old with chips and surfaces peeling/fading but overall still a great...
Read moreOk... so this place is crowded af after high school and middle school get out. The library next to it is also packed. The trail is only a little bit in the wooks and the rest is a circle behind the library, through the parking lot where cars are coming and then back behind the middle school down to a big playground at the back of the park (it scared me my 1st time down there)and back to the woods. Honestly- i had been looking for a trail here for months and it just so happened i was walking on part of it but never knew it. There was no sign until u get to the wooded area. Another thing that would be nice is to tell u how far u have walked- like a sign that says "u have walked 1/2 a mile" or "you have walked 1 mile" or even as simple as "1mile" or "1/4 mile" or "1/2...
