I recently attended an art workshop at the Spinning Wheel ATX in Austin, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! The workshop focused on creating mandalas from recycled wood, and Rakhi, the owner, made sure it was a memorable and unique event.
Rakhi's guidance throughout the workshop was patient and thorough. She walked us through each step of the process, from molding the clay to using glue, sticking mirror pieces onto the clay, and finally, painting the finished product. What set Spinning Wheel ATX apart from other studios was the individuality of each participant's work. We all started with different boards, ensuring that no two mandalas were alike.
I appreciated Rakhi's efforts to create a welcoming atmosphere by incorporating icebreaker and bonding exercises within the group, especially since some participants were not acquainted with each other. The studio itself is a treasure trove of recycled artwork, and the spacious backyard adds a delightful touch to the creative space.
One thing that stood out was the workshop's focus on sustainability. The Spinning Wheel ATX is dedicated to being green, and this commitment is evident in the variety of artwork created from recycled materials. Rakhi's passion for sustainability shines through, making the entire experience not only artistic but also environmentally conscious.
The workshop was a bit different from others I've attended, as we each had the opportunity to create two pieces of art. The second piece, a tea light holder made from cardboard, fabric, glue, and used wine corks, added an extra layer of creativity to the session.
In summary, the Spinning Wheel ATX is a creative haven where art, sustainability, and passion come together seamlessly. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to unleash their artistic side in a unique and eco-friendly environment. Thank you, Rakhi, for a truly wonderful and...
Read moreSpinning Wheel ATX hosted my milestone birthday celebration, and it was an unforgettable experience! We had a large group of adults, as well as a child, and from start to finish, everything was incredibly fun and relaxing. The venue itself had such a warm and inviting atmosphere, with plenty of space for our group to spread out and enjoy ourselves.
Rahki, the owner, and her employees were absolutely fantastic. They were friendly, approachable, and made sure everyone felt comfortable, especially considering it was a group of adults with varying skill levels. They patiently guided us through the process of creating our art, offering tips and encouragement along the way. It was clear that they were passionate about what they do, and their positive energy was contagious.
What really stood out was the unique experience of learning a new skill together. The class was structured in a way that everyone could participate at their own pace, making it both educational and enjoyable. By the end of the event, everyone had their own piece of art to take home, which felt like such a rewarding accomplishment.
Overall, this art class venue was the perfect setting for a birthday party, offering not only a fun and creative activity but also a memorable bonding experience. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to try something new in a laid-back, welcoming environment. I look forward to returning for many more creative...
Read moreBe prepared to have your mind blown as soon as you enter Rakhi's creative art studio; her studio exudes amazing levels of creativity that I would never have ever imagined or thought possible out of the simplest day to day objects.
We partnered with the Spinning Wheel for my daughter's 7th birthday party and the kids had an amazing time at the art studio; they spent their time with some break the ice type of fun games and then later worked on their name boards, see pics, simply amazing.
They also have a very big backyard with tables and benches where all the kids were able to congregate for snacks, cake cutting, happy birthday song and just when they wanted to run and around and be kids. The backyard space also allowed for plenty of room where parents and smaller kids could hang out while the kids are hard at work on their art projects. We were able to bring a cooler of beverages and bask in the sun.
If you are thinking about picking a place for your child's next birthday party, don't think twice and book a slot with the Spinning Wheel, you will not be disappointed. Such a nice change of scenery from the traditional birthday spots like play places, etc. Also a great venue for any types of get-togethers small or big. Finally, Rakhi (owner) is such a gem of a person, extremely personable and has an amazing...
