This trail is steep and doesn't offer many views, but it's never very crowded, it's well maintained, and it's a great workout - basically straight up. As a runner, this trail is just barely runnable uphill for me and a blast to run down, although tripping hazards abound. Trail traffic is 50% hikers, 20% dirt bikes, 20% horseback, and 10% runners. The trail is open to mountain bikes but I've never seen one. Plenty of parking, a clean vault toilet at the trailhead, and it's very convenient to Lake Wenatchee State Park, Kahler Glen, and Nason Creek and Glacier View Campgrounds.
If you've got the endurance and time, the Alpine Lookout at the ridge's high point has stunning views, but the round trip is about 20 miles and 5000' of elevation, so most people will find it to be too much. There are a few views of the lake in the first 3 miles and sporadic valley views thereafter, but I wouldn't recommend this...
