Last year in the spring and summer of 2021, this lake was awesome bass fishing! Unfortunately, after the city carelessly burned massive piles of debris and rubble on the bank in the fall I haven't seen a single fish.. Not even a bluegill! I caught the biggest Largemouth of my life here, on any given day you could come here and catch fish back to back all day long. From sunup to sundown.
But since the city of Lebanon apparently doesn't understand runoff, or the toxic effects of ash, melted plastic and trash. Or what that can do when you mindlessly dump tons of it into a small, closed freshwater ecosystem it could be years before you see another fish in here...

Read moreThis lake is really quite interesting. I think that when the Old Mill was functioning, this lake served as a timber / log raft storage pond. It isn't too deep and I don't think that it is connected to the Santiam river any more, but has water in it all year round. I haven't found the access points to the shore line, and haven't seen any clearly marked paths. The water does appear to be quite filled with algae, but might still be tempting for a swim on a hot day. Read moreThis is one of my favorite places to ride my bike. It is peaceful, serene, beautiful, and full of color! People fish there, walk, and ride bikes. The walk is not shaded but it is and easy walk or ride. They are developing the park more and more so there are more places to explore.
