My wife and I enjoyed a presentation of "Fiddler on the Roof" here this past Friday evening. We were pleasantly surprised with the production. As long as you go in realizing what it is, a small, local, theater group and not a high-dollar Broadway production you will enjoy yourself. The staff and cast were all super friendly. It seems as if most of the attendees (at least on the date we attended) were family or friends of the cast. Really the only reason I took a star off on my review were two things...The seating is just a padded folding chair (with a thin additional seat cushion added, that did help some). Which for a three hour production gets very uncomfortable even with a short intermission. And then they offer refreshments for a donation and unfortunately they offered wine for sale as one of the beverages. I cannot stand the smell of alcohol and the patron seated beside me was drinking and the smell nearly turned my stomach. I just have a low tolerance for the smell. Wish they would drop that from their offerings as otherwise it seemed to be a very family/ child friendly environment. We will definitely keep our eyes on their production schedule and will come again next time we see a production that sounds good. I may bring an additional seat cushion if they allow that. A fun time for my wife and I for a reasonable cost while supporting local arts...
