I have been to many Melon Patch productions & have never been disappointed...until last night. We attended opening night of "Blythe Spirit" & literally, heard so little of the dialogue, we left after Act I. I would have left earlier but, that would have been rude. In my experience, the actors are to project so that the audience in the last row hears everything. The actors played to themselves, ignoring the audience. It is the director's job to sit in that last row & make sure the audience takes full advantage of the hard work & effort the cast puts forth. From the beginning, I wondered why the cast wasn't miced. The male lead appeared to be wearing a mic but, I didn't think it was turned on. FYI, I wear hearing aids & they were turned to full volume ! Kudos to a terrific set...

It was the last performance given in their previous theater, as they now have a new location. It was the perfect send-off. The storyline was very interesting, the songs well performed, and the actors were top-notch. If you have the chance to see any production by The Melon Patch Players, you will not be disappointed.
