Elmwood Park Public Library — Attraction in Leyden Township

I've been coming here with my niece and picking up her stack of books but lately workers have been rude and unpleasant. A front desk person named Valery was the rudest person ever. I've walked into the building and doesn't even say "Hi", I say Hi every time. Ive noticed with other people she does acknowledge them. I've asked her questions because sometimes she's the only one at the front and she barely answers. Ive also heard from other workers that the director isn't pleasant either. This would be my second time at this particular library, which the frist time was ok. My second visit I came in needing to print a couple copies of my school work. One of the ladies acted as if I did not exist if I'm not mistaken she seem as if she ran the department unfortunately I did not get her name I should of. She seemed ignored by my presence and that reason was due to me being African American. I will never go back to that particular library again I felt inhuman and unimportant as a patriot. To be honest this place is actually pretty cool. I grew up with this library for about almost 8 years now and never had an under satisfactory experience. Like others have stated, it's a quiet place, has a great variety of books, friendly staff, and plenty of computers.
