Pho home 2 has what a lot of places try and emulate. The inside can only be described as a hole in the wall in the best possible way, and in the way thats getting harder to find. While not exactly a mom and pop shop it still has that familiar feel like your in someone's home while still feeling like a proper restaurant. That being said the service here is immaculate I arrived at 8:15 a little late in the day and close to closing which I'm sorry for. Regardless they welcomed us in eager to serve us. I ordered the satay beef noodle salad and my girlfriend ordered the spicy beef noodle soup (forgot the name but it wasn't pho). The noodle salad was great left me wanting more not in the I didn't get enough food kind of way but in the I want to try more things kind of way. The salad if you could call it a salad had a good portion of noodles and a assorted veggie medley of bean sprouts, cucumber, lettuce and herbs for freshness the satay beef was tender and flavorful no doubt marinaded for max flavor. The star of the plate was definitely the fried spring roll and fish sauce that accompany the salad the springroll added a crisp and fried texture that played well with the fresh crunchy texture of the veggies the fish sauce mixture was simply delicious add hit every pallet of your tounge salty, sweet, sour, spicy, umami. And more balanced than at other Vietnamese places. While I only sampled a spoonful of the spicy beef noodle soup I was kicking myself for not getting it after the taste. Deep and flavorful it'll be my next choice on a return visit. After the amazing meal we decided to get some banh mis for tomorrow morning. I can tell you as of now Pho Home 2 just keeps on hitting 4/4 dishes that I tried were phenomenal in taste and quality. Admittedly the banh mi would have been amazing freshly made and yet after a night in the fridge the banh mis were packed with flavor freshness and were pretty good portion wise. I give this place 5/5 stars deservedly so. I recommend this place for anyone looking for a new go to place, nice place to sit down or for genuinely good auethntic...
Read moreFood: Phá» GĂ (ie chicken phá») was very good by 2025's standards but not savory by 2018's. By way of comparison, I almost agree with Melissa Too's review that the "broth was flat.... Not...deep rich broth....â Yet to explain, Iâm very spoiled by the former Phá» Town in Niles off Dempster St; its space was too large and rent far too steep for it to last, but it had the best flavor and gloriously large portions. It may have closed many years ago but when food is that fantastic, its memory never fades. NB: long noodles were white and not glass in case anyone has a preference. Last, the Cherry Promenade is fantastic and a little pricey for its size. **
Service: Excellent. Very attentive and considerate. *
Atmosphere: Street parking was available when I visited. Nothing fancy outside, it was clean inside, and that's what matters. Toni C said the interior carried a âslight smell of mildew which [is] attribute[d] to the building itself.â I disagree, only smelling fresh bean sprouts, and then when they were brought...
Read moreI ordered from this restaurant on Grubhub, expecting my favorite cozy meal for when I feel sick, since my usual restaurant was closed. I got the spicy beef pho.
I was expecting the usual toppings, basil, sprouts, lime, jalapeño, and hoisin sauce. I got mint, cabbage, sprouts, and lime.
I was expecting the usual rice noodles, I got some noodles that looked and felt like udon noodles (couldnât actually eat them because the texture was NOT great)
I figured the reviews were good, so I would give it a chance. I was extremely disappointed. The broth was flat and spicy. Not the deep rich broth Iâm so used to. I had been expecting it to be slightly different, as they describe it as being made with lemongrass. It was almost flavorless and watery, aside from the overwhelming spice.
The shrimp rolls were really good, and ultimately my toddler enjoyed the noodles. But all in all, I was incredibly disappointed. This is my first EVER bowl of pho I was unable...
