Today was my second time visiting Lilburn City Park with friends. This time I went with two friends and four of our children. It was a perfect fall day--even though we're technically 2 days away from the first day of fall. We all enjoyed the many trails, greenery and atmosphere of the park. We agreed to return very soon.
The city park has sufficient parking in at least three lots. There's an oval-shaped trail that circumvents a huge lawn. Visitors also have the option of detouring onto other trails nearby. There's a pretty decent-sized playground with picnic tables nearby. The park appears to have one huge pavilion that can be rented for events. (I didn't notice any other pavilion). There appeared to be a kid's birthday party being celebrated underneath that pavilion today.
Another perk is that the majority of the park is away from heavy or quick-moving traffic, so parents can feel a sense of safety when their little ones are running around. One of my favorite parts of Lilburn City Park is the diversity of visitors who seem to frequent this park. It's a cultural melting pot in the...
Read moreI haven't walked the Lilburn City Park in at least 6 or 7 years, so I happened to find myself there today by way of Lions Club Park and the Greenway Trail, and boy was I pleasantly surprised at all the changes that have taken place. I am used to just walking the big circle on down to and around the pavilion several times to get my miles in, but that became a thing of the past today. I was so enamored by all the green space and calming elements of nature that I walked and walked and walked the trail until I'd gotten all the way to the other side. Before I knew it I'd walked over 6 miles from Rockbridge to Campcreek to Killian Hill (both entrances😉) and then back to Rockbridge. I just couldn't stop, because I wanted to see if it would ever end. 😄 It's such a unique concept and a beatiful sight to behold. The best part is it's figuratively in my back door. Guess I'll be getting a new pair of...
Read moreBeen here plenty of times for the past two years. Didn’t really had the chance to revisit the place till few days ago. Lilburn city park is right behind Lilburn Gwinnett Public Library. I walked from the library towards the park, which is also known as Old Town Lilburn. Very similar to downtown historic cities of Gwinnett. The only difference is, Old Town Lilburn isn’t as large. From the past few years, there’s plenty of subdivisions built. I barely recognized the area. The Greenway Trail is still a great place to walk. During Fall season, Gwinnett county has Gwinnett Trails parks, mapping out all of the park trails for paved hiking. Old Town Lilburn has plenty of events all year round for each season, holidays and cultural events for everyone; from senior citizen to all...
