Typical dive motel. Giddy with joy after taking possession of my key and TV remote, I found myself standing in front of the door to my room. As soon as I opened the door, I am immediately greeted by the unwelcoming smell of mold and mildew. After my wife and I carefully walked in, fully expecting to see something scurrying across the floor, we began to perform our own room inspection. The bed and sheets were first. Fully expecting to see stains, hair or worse (bed bugs), we came across no such items. As for comfort of the bed goes; a medieval torture rack might have had a similar level of comfort. Clearly, this was no Duxiana bed mattress. With a concave in the center of the bed, you are naturally drawn to the center of the bed by sheer gravity. That might be a good thing, or bad, depending who’s in bed with you. If you have chronic back pain, beware. This bed might just drop you to your knees in the morning, leaving you in pain. On to the bathroom. We found the bathroom small yet clean, with fixtures working properly and hot water delivered shortly after turning on the faucets. Our particular bathroom's toilet seat was hanging on by a thread. If you shift your body to wipe your ass, the seat will slide to one side or the other, risking pinching your skin, or worse. There were plenty of towels of different sizes that were clean. Room came equipped with both a microwave oven and small refrigerator, which proceeded to freeze our items harder than an iceberg. A salad after it has been frozen is a soggy inedible mess. All in all, I guess for $70.00 dollars or so, when you're tight on money it is a viable option. Especially when flights are being cancelled due to weather, people will be looking for a place to crash. Unfortunately, this is when hotels jack up their rates. Bottom line - when you're faced with the prospect of staying a night in the Newark area, this place might be an option if you’re on a shoestring budget. One last mention: nix that evening stroll. The neighborhood that this place is in is as seedy as the...
Read moreI am beyond irritated and shocked at this place . I didn't even stay for 15 minutes I went to the room and it was such a mess covers were all bunched up in the corner. All the lights were on as if someone just left . It smelled a bit tart and the bathroom toilet had urine on and in it. There were no extra towels no tissue NOTHING CLEAN! I TURNED AROUND AND ASKED FOR A DIFFERENT ROOM giving all benefits of the doubt because maybe someone just left and roomservice didn't get to the room yet .Understandable. But what's not understandable is when I confront the issue and I'm blamed for it ! I NEVER STAYED AT THIS FACILITY A DAY IN MY LIFE HOW DID I DO IT. Ignored and continued to ask for another room that has been cleaned. I was denied another room if I didn't pay an extra 20$ I was already paying 84$ which I think is a jip for a regular one bed but whatever. I payed the extra got another room key and proceeded to go to my room. guess what ! TV was gone water was running the shower was on and the carpet smelled like mildew! I just asked for my money back! But I got nothing . And when I asked to speak to the owner /manager/founder ,whoever, that was denied too! I want my money back or I'm going to filr a complaint and I'm calling an inspector! Today!!!!! May.16th.2016 3:33pm I felt so disrespected and cheated out of 104 dollars for a regular one bed...

From the moment we arrived, this stay was a disaster. Within two minutes of using the bathroom (just for a quick #1!), the toilet overflowed. I immediately called the front desk at 2 PM for assistance—no one ever came. We left for an event and returned at 7 PM to find that still, no one had addressed it. When I went to the lobby to follow up, since no handyman was on staff, they handed me a plunger—seriously? Fine, I’ll do it myself.
Then, the next morning, hoping to take a hot shower, there was no hot water. When I asked the front desk, they told me to "wait for the water heater to warm up." Excuse me? We were sleeping all night, and no one used the water—why wasn’t there any to begin with? The response? "There’s nothing I can do, I'm not a plumber." Apparently, the staff isn’t trained to handle basic issues, and no one works on Sundays.
The level of indifference was shocking. No solutions, no attempt to help, just "not our problem" attitude. At that point, I wasn’t about to waste another night here. I immediately booked another hotel because I refuse to throw more money down the drain (pun intended).
If you're looking for a place where you'll have to fix your own toilet and pray for hot water, then by all means, this is the place for you. Otherwise, save yourself the hassle and stay...
