OK, time for my second or third NJ themed sex motel review.||||I love NJ, sex, and hotel rooms with character. It's a perhaps unfortunate||aspect of our society's messed up relation to sex that the majority of||themed sex hotel rooms are pretty low-end, but at least that means I get||to enjoy them instead of fretting that I can't afford them or should||have taken my partner someplace more expensive. ||||The Bentley is conveniently located just a bit south of Newark Airport.||||Bullet-proof glass at front desk? Check.||Motel exterior with themed interiors? Check.||They do take credit cards but I'm not sure about reservations.||||The place has a fortress layout - after paying, you drive through a narrow gateway into a parking lot that's enclosed by the building on all sides. This is nice for security.||||We chose the igloo room. The theming perfectly hit the minimum viable level. Any less effort on their part and it wouldn't have been worth it, but there's a so bad it's good beauty to the place.||||Standard motel room, only with no furniture besides the bed and one chair and two tiny drawer-less bedside tables bolted to the wall.||||It was clearly worn but mostly very clean, the kind of place that looks like it's been scrubbed hard a whole lot of times, the sheets thin but not gross. ||||No desk, no alarm clock, no coffee or tea provisions in the rooms (there's a service area off of the hotel office that also has a microwave). No chain or bar lock on the door - you aren't going to keep housekeeping out. Big TV on the wall with no HDMI cable, bring a long cable if you want to watch your own content on the screen. ||||Whoever plastered the walls was fantastic. It looks like cinderblock until you realize the blocks are much larger and more square. This more than anything else says igloo. ||||There's a toboggan, some snow shoes, and a crampon fastened to the walls. The ceiling has a circular cutout with some peeling wallpaper of a cartoony starscape above it, so it's like looking out the chimney of an igloo into the night sky. There's a hot tub in its own alcove, and a bathroom with a shower, sink, and toilet. There's an adorable fake signpost on the wall, a north pole with arrows listing distances to major cities.||||The choice of lighting is one light switch for the cutout so you can have that be the only illumination, one that does a pair of bedside wall sconces and I think a set of tracklights, and one for a very bright pair of ceiling lights. So if you're going to read in bed with a sleeping partner, bring a blindfold or a headlamp. ||||We ended up staying only one night because they don't store credit card info and can't take payment without card present, so when they called the landline phone in the morning, we couldn't extend the stay without getting dressed, and once we were dressed we decided to head out.||||The biggest drawback was also in some ways the best feature: when we arrived the room was 86 degrees fahrenheit. In an igloo. In April.||In New Jersey. (Outside temps in the 50s). ||||The heat was somehow stuck on max, the baseboard radiators never cooled off no matter what we did to the thermostat. Fortunately for our romantic desires, the thru-the-wall AC cooled the place adequately, though the environmental impact of dueling heat and AC is pretty guilt-inducing for me.||||But having my partner look into my eyes and say "It's so cold, will you come and keep me warm?" when the igloo room is 86 degrees is a memory for a lifetime. The one-liners are unstoppable here, do you want to go for a sleigh ride? And don't even ask about the wintry mix.||||Plenty of $300/night rooms haven't put a smile on my face. This ridiculous place brought joy and laughter. I could wish for lots of amenities, but in a world of bland, I'm happy to see anything that has character, especially at such an...
Read moreI have been staying here for short getaways for a few months whether it be overnight or short stay. For what you pay, I feel I always got what I expected. The guy thaorks the front desk ovenight is ays very helpful in person he may be short with youover the phone but very understanding. Very much addresses whatever needs or wants. The maids and staff have been nothing short of pleasant. I’ve no complaints up until now when my car was egged on this property during my most recent overnight stay. I filed a police report but have been playing hide and go seek with the owner even though I have left my contact information more than once. I feel disrespected as this nonchalant response for vandalism or mischief that took place during my stay has been bypassed and not once has any staff member showed any type of sympathy towards the incident. They have all been very short, and unhelpful. Even after filing a police report I am still the one doing all the following up. And only received a call back from the General Manager of the Swan Motel. Not the Bentley. I am very disappointed as I drop money on both the Swan and the Bentley quite often so to hear that the owner owns both properties is disheartening because up until now I have always enjoyed my stays. But can no longer spend my money at either properties after the response I have received to the events that have occurred. Also I would like to add in none of the rooms I have stayed in is there any refrigerator so to have my car egged in the middle of the night was quite alarming to me and for whatever weird reason not to any of the staff. For the Motel to be “coined” as a family business, the lack of communication, cooperation, sympathy I received was not reflected as such. Almost makes me feel as if maybe it was someone on staff responsible for...
Read moreThis was definitely a amazing experience I wish I could have planned to stay longer then one night. The older lady at the front desk( I wish I would have asked her name ) she was so nice. Before actually arriving to the hotel . I called about 4-5 times because I was changing my mind and just all over the place with questions because since I have never stayed here. She was nice each time I called. If you are looking for a certain type of room (ie a bigger room space, or the jacuzzi by the bed, separate shower ) mention that , They can give you what you like . But if you don’t say anything/ask then they will never know what you expect . Everyone likes different things and they have something for everyone . When I arrived she allowed me look at a room to see if I was comfortable with it because she knew how unsure I was.. I thought that was so nice of her. It shows how much they care about us having a nice experience.
Although The lady that brought us to the room was not very helpful or friendly. The room we ended up with was perfect ! It was spacious, the cable was great. The tv was big. The best thing was the jacuzzi . I would just recommend making sure the jets are positioned the right way before you turn on the jacuzzi because the water will shoot out and wet up everything nearby. The air conditioning was great too, it kept the room cold, even after the air conditioner was turned off.
Also, if you don’t want to sit in the room your whole visit there is literally so many things to do across the street. That just adds to the making it a better experience. I walked there and back so I just wish the gate was open to walk through instead of having to walk all the way around to get back to the rooms.
I had such a nice time. Thank you so much. I will...
