AMC CLASSIC Lisbon 12 — Attraction in Lisbon

I am an AMC A-List member because I love the staff and how close this place is. The seats need to be updated and they could add a restaurant or something but otherwise, it is always a fun time.

Post-Covid Updated review Really disappointed in my experience here following the relaxed mandates. New staff wasn't very friendly or knowledgeable. Returning staff wasn't their cheery selves. The registers were down, soda machines limited in their options, and the over the door digital readouts weren't working properly. Honestly, I do not think I will be returning to this theater in the near future. Very disappointed to learn that downgrading from AMC A-List because of covid really hurts because I couldn't use the points I earned precovid to buy tickets, only on concessions. Was going to resubscribe but after tonight, I'd have to say it isn't worth it. I went to over 60 movies in 2019 and feel like I'm being punished for needing to save money during the covid shutdown. Seems a little unfair to punish/force the hand of longtime faithful customers. Corporate really needs to figure something out.

Update as of 5/19/22 Much better experience this time around. Staff was nice, drink machines were working, and registers weren't down. The digital readouts above the theater doors marking what film was playing in the room were still not all functioning. The most concerning thing is that the seating really does need to be updated. I had language barrier issues with the staff trying to order tickets. Another member came by and set everything straight. As usual everything is overpriced. They didn't have any screens showing the movies playing or times available. My anxiety got the better of me and I forgot the name of the movie right when I got to the register and had to resort to calling it "the new Harry Potter movie" which is stupid, I know. I have no idea what the difference between popcorn and premium popcorn is. Also no idea what 'flavors' popcorn were available other than that were 2 flavors available. How do you flavor popcorn?? Got into the theatre and it's your basic screen and seating. The seats were narrow and barely soft enough. The arm rests were hard plastic and uncomfortable. They had the volume up too loud to the point my ears hurt during some of the previews. The ac system was too loud and distracting. There are regular ceiling fans (like you'd find in a house) at the top which reflected just enough light as to cast distracting shadows on the ceiling. The screen didn't have any tears or other blemishes which is good. Picture quality was good. It'd be great if they could increase the frame rate to reduce blurring during action scenes, but that's not the theaters fault entirely. Overall, it was fine. This AMC needs to be gutted and rebuilt. It stinks of a mold, so bad that I had such an allergy headache I considered going to an ER after the film. It is the same smell that lingers in a decaying cheap motel. You can see black mold on the ceiling too. The bathrooms fans are covered in layers of dust. Like just rebuild the place.

I worked for AMC in the 90s and we told pride in our theater. Theaters aren't dead, they ran poorly. With subscription programs, they do thrive like their competition 20 minutes away.

The last film I saw there before last week was 15 years ago and the place was fine. We saw a kids film, a family talked and used their phone the whole time. The kids are concessions were nice but only one of them worked while the two gossiped. Maybe if they all worked to clean, it would be better? Nice kids though.

We also for a Elio bucket but was told only the tin was available and not the collectors cup- they come as a set. So they were either taken or sold separately which isn't part of the deal. It was a bummer.

The place is a mess and it saddens me. Dicks next door closed and was used as a Spirit Halloween last year. That also reeked of mold. The whole complex has water damage and needs to be address ASAP or lose your AMC flag The place needs...
