I called this location to ask a simple question. After seeing a few people get free shiny Koraidon/Miradon codes from other Gamestops across the USA before the actual release day of September 26, 2025 I figured I’d call this location and ask if they were doing any late night/day before early releases. All I asked over the phone was “Are you guys releasing any Koraidon/Miradon codes the day/night before, or are you strictly releasing them on the 26th?” I figured at worst I would get a “no we are only releasing them on promo day”, but no, I got so much more snark than a simple no. The young woman employee on the other end of the phone immediately started talking all over me in a very condescending and overly dramatic/upset attitude “We WoULd AlL gEt FiReD iF wE dId ThAt!!!!” She continued to rudely talk down to me on the phone and got irate and upset at me. During her overreaction and baffling response, I finally interrupted her back and said “Look, there is no reason for you to be this upset over me asking a simple question. I was just curious, that is all.” She replied back by saying “Ok BYE” and hung up on me.
Gamestop do better about training your employees about being more professional and having some manners. A simple “We are only giving out codes on release day” would have sufficed (and that was all the information I was looking for - I wasn’t calling to start an argument) and we both would have walked away from that interaction with good vibes. Instead, I was met with hostility and aggression. I did not ask this employee to break any rules and give me a code early, nor did I say anything to elicit such a response.
I will be pre-ordering Pokemon Legends ZA from Best Buy or Amazon...
Read moreI called at around 12:30pm today, I asked Angie that I was looking for a pre-owned Grand Theft Auto 5 for the Xbox 360. Fortunately, Angie said she had one copy left. So i asked her to hold it and i left as soon as possible. So I'm coming from Hayward and it's 30 miles away. I hit traffic and I'm running late so i call Angie to make sure she still is holding it and of course she says yes. I get there about 45 mins later. I walk in and say I had Grand Theft Auto 5 on hold. So Stephanie brings out a new copy of GTA 5 and I start to explain to her that I asked Angie to hold the Pre Owned copy for me. Unfortunately, Stephanie thought the game was on hold for someone else and she sold it before i arrived there. All she said was sorry, it was her fault.
So i Drove 30+ miles in about an hour's worth of traffic just to hear someone say my bad. That's it. The good news is that we found out that the Gamestop in San Ramon had one in stock and the best part of it was they didn't hand it over to someone else while I made way there.
This was a really disappointing experience and I don't believe I will do any business with this particular...
Read moreThe employees buy up all the Pokemon, MTG, and One Piece cards as soon as they receive the inventory.
Now that Gamestop doesn't sell any of that on their website the Gamestop employees themselves have been buying it all.
That's why even with that change from Gamestop HQ you never see anything on the shelves.
The only way to get any of those items is on a release day but then you wait in line to find out that the store only got 4 of this and that. Yea right...
We went to a release play and trade event and the three employees there; the guy with the long black hair, the Asian guy, and the other distinct guy/gal were talking about how they pulled this and that the night before - meaning that they had hoarded and opened all the merchandise for themselves.
My kid can't even find these things any more because of this behavior by the gamestop staff. It's disheartening that he used to be able to go in with his weekly allowance and get a pack and then have fun trading with his friends. Now he needs to make an eBay account and pay upwards of 10$ for something that costs 4.5$?
What the...
