De Afghanan — Restaurant in Livermore

I recently visited De Afghanan Kabob House in Livermore, and it was a delightful culinary experience! From the moment I walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere made me feel like I had stepped into a cozy, traditional Afghan home.

The food is absolutely amazing. I started with the Bolani, a perfectly crisp and savory stuffed flatbread that was bursting with flavor. For the main course, I had the lamb kabob, which was tender, juicy, and seasoned to perfection. The rice that accompanied the dish was aromatic and cooked just right. The portions were generous, and everything was fresh.

The service was excellent as well. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure that we had everything we needed throughout our meal. They were also happy to answer questions and provide recommendations, which added to the overall experience.

One of the highlights was the authentic Afghan tea, which was the perfect way to end the meal. The balance of flavors and spices was just right, and it left me feeling completely satisfied.

I went to this location some years ago with friends and it made such an impression on me that to me this was the best restaurant in all of Livermore, sadly my perception of this place changed on my last visit, I came in and ordered a lamb kabob from their menu, the plate it self was nothing to brag about, a few chunks of meat and a salad along with 3 small pieces of bread, and a glass of water, the meat was nice and tender but nothing that would reason it's price point, after my bill came I was distracted on the phone and didn't really think much of it, it wasn't until I got in my car that I realized my bill was $37... the place was near empty as I and 1 other...

Used to go here and buy from them all the time. Very regular customer and the food is great, however ordered there first time since pandemic started today for takeout. Came into the restaurant, a guy comes out of the kitchen without a mask.

I asked him why are you without a mask?!?! In the kitchen and with no face covering. The guy mumbled something In coherent and the other said it's because he's old. Never will order from them again if they can't keep federal guidelines. Not smart in this day and age of covid to lose customers because of that.

I do not recommend anyone going to this establishment until they can follow the rules. Will also be letting FDA...
