I want to give this place 4 stars because I enjoy the course and the food and service at Beebs but my recent experience here with one of the pro shop counter person leaves much to be desired. I was a single and asked if there were any slots or no show. The guy helping me basically told me they were full for the next 2.5 hrs but if I wait around maybe something will open up. Ok, no problem Ill enjoy my morning coffee while I wait. 50 mins goes by and I still no call and then I spotted a twosome teeing up. I went in again and asked and sure enough, the person (now a different guy) at the counter said I can join them. My question is why didn't the guy who helped me earlier not let me know a spot was available? What made me even more upset was the twosome that I joined were both singles and one had arrived 30mins before I did. Clearly the guy was not being truthful when he said everything was solid for 2.5hrs and didnt follow up with the waiting list. Im not jumping to any conclusion but his action made me feel discriminated against. Hopefully thats not the case but I hope they get better at training their counter staff (maybe just this one guy). Everything and everyone else is great (including the other counter staff and the restaurant) but this left a sour note. Should I get in touch with management? Lets see at...
Read moreWorst experience ever! I was very interested in playing the game of golf and this is my local public golf course. The golf professionals write up looked very promising so I signed up for a lesson. I show up for my first lesson, and there was a tournament playing, staff had not showed up and left only one person aka my teacher. I waited for 30 minutes for additional staff to show and instructor still not available, which I was understanding and said I will come back we can schedule a new lesson. I called to confirm before showing up and again issues and was asked if they can move me. Sure, I say, I understand with short staff issues. OK, third try and yes you got it no golf professional another issue. Now you would think they would call someone (perhaps me!) and either line up another professional or give me a call, nope not even a thought. Asked once again if they can just reschedule (sure my time is not important – very disrespectful). When I asked to talk to the GM, his response was "Not my problem, they run their own schedule", really?? This is how you introduce people to the game and how you run a business??? Sad times, nice way to introduce golf to a...
Read moreEDIT: I decided to give LP another go after hearing they put some serious work into the course and facilities. Boy was I surprised and impressed with their efforts!! The greens are in amazing shape and roll exceptionally true. Pacing was not a problem on a beautiful Friday evening. Staff was friendly. The only complaint would be the inconsistent fairway conditions, but this is a common issue at any area course due to the dry climate. Nicely done LP!
Old review: The course itself is fine. Fairways are in decent shape right now and the greens are mostly smooth. The unacceptable part of this course is the pace of play. I've had more than one 6+ hour day because of the absurd 8-minute intervals this course uses. No marshals in sight means folks take their time playing. For the price this course charges, 8 minute tee times is hard to comprehend. I highly recommend Dublin Ranch, which is marginally more expensive and miles ahead of...
