Eddie Edgar Ice Arena — Attraction in Livonia

I signed our four year old up for the Snow Plow Sam program and I cannot say enough good things about the people who work here!! The women teaching the kids are so patient and helpful. Tonight is only our second class so my son was getting discouraged because he kept falling; the sweetest woman came over to help! She fixed his skates (I had never tied skates before), showed him how to scrape the ice to make a snowball, played Rock Paper Scissors with him, etc. and it turned his whole mood around. I was shocked when she said she was the Director! It really shows how much she cares about her programs that she was out on the ice helping all of the kids! And Ed, the Zamboni driver, made my kids night when he came by to honk the horn for them! Everyone has just been so friendly and they seem to genuinely like kids. So thankful we found...

This place needs some updates. They blast the radio during open skate and it is all commercials and maybe 20% music. Why not stream music at this day and age? No one wants to hear commercials blasting on the radio continuously. A real drag! The concession stand has NO food. Ever. No one works the concession counter either. How can you run an ice arena with mainly growing kids and have NO food available for them to purchase? You have to walk around to find someone to help you get a fountain drink. The vending machine is completely empty. The rental skate blades are so dull you can't even skate. This place really needs some work. This place is awesome to play at. I love how there are two rinks. I love the bright lighting in the building. I love the ceilings aren't 10 feet above you like devonaire. The only complaint? Don't ever, EVER get your skates sharpened at this place. The kid asked my buddy and i if we've ever sharpened skates before lol. Of course not! Thats why we are paying you! He went on to talk about how he usually cross grinds the blade...he ended up jacking my buddys blades up and literally burnt both of our skates. We ended up going to perani's after that and they asked who had sharpened our skates last. When we told them, he said that our skates were the worst that he's ever seen lmao. I'm guessing the kid was just new and hopefully things...
