So Delish — Restaurant in Livonia

I got a birthday cake from here for my birthday in October (heart shaped) cherry chip flavored for $60. I originally came inside spoke with a woman went over what I was interested in, showed her a picture and she pulled out the price book to quote me the cost. I put a deposit down and came and picked up the cake and paid the remainder. I was extremely satisfied with the quality of the cake, customer service, and taste. I was so satisfied that I decided to get my little sisters grad cake from here today. I called a few days in advance and told them I wanted a cake to feed about 15-20 people and wanted the same style and flavor I got the last time. I explained to the man on the phone I just got a cake in October for $60 heart shaped a couple months before and wanted the same cake UofM themed . I woke up super early (I live in the Downriver area) to pick it up before work because I work until noon and my sisters graduation is at 2pm. When I got there the business looked different than what it did back in October. The woman at the front explained they moved a couple doors down. She then pulls out this tiny cake that they wanted me to pay $60 for. In no way could this feed 15-20 adults not even 15-20 babies. It didn't have much design maybe a few squiggly lines and a two word saying. Nowhere near what I got in the past. I explained to her my frustration. and she said she remembered the cake I got for my birthday and told me I was undercharged... I don't ever remember seeing this woman yet she knew who I was... I was never told I was undercharged for the last cake not even when I called to book this current cake . In October the woman pulled out a price book and went over everything with me then. I do not know if the prices were wrong in the book or what. It also was never conveyed to me after my purchase that I was undercharged either. And they had my number on file. As a business you can't set certain expectations and then not live up to them. And if you undercharged it should have been communicated so I do not set that expectation the next time. When I called and spoke with the guy he never confirmed how big the cake would be he just confirmed the flavor and shape. They offered a dozen cupcakes on the side (6 chocolate with regular blue icing, 6 vanilla with yellow icing for uofm theme) which I felt I could have gotten from kroger for less. I was pressed to get to work and didnt want to keep going back and forth with the woman at the front. I also felt obligated to buy the cake because it was already done and this was the same day I needed it. I heard about this place through my job who has ordered from there plenty of times in the past but I do not plan to order from them in the future being that they made it seem like they did me a favor last time by undercharging me...when everything was done incorrectly on their end and the communication wasn't clear. I understand prices change but this wasn't the case. This wasn't miscommunication this was a lack there of. This ruined my morning the day of my sisters graduation. And I passed up dozens of bakeries traveling all the way from downriver.

To respond to the response I received: There are two sides. But I left this review about my side. I didnt request a small cake I requested a cake to feed 15-20 people and got one to feed 5-10 people (IF THAT). I did have to hurry to work but as soon as I got to work I left my review because of how furious I was about the service. Your response furthers the terrible service issue. You all stated you weren't going to make the larger cake that I requested and that I received in the past. That is why you gave me the thrown together cupcakes on the side. Delivery was never an option to reconcile this. The woman at the front came from talking to someone in the back who stated only thing they would be willing to do was give cupcakes which wasn't what I was looking or asking for. I refuse to give my business moving forward and the company I work for...

I was recommended to this bakery by a friend who had a good experience about a year ago, but unfortunately my experience wasn’t great. I put in an order for a custom birthday cake about a week and a half before I needed to pick it up. I had a very specific vision for the cake and sent an inspiration photo via email to the baker to go off of. The person I spoke to on the phone seemed very confident in being able to execute the exact details I was explaining and that were depicted in the photo. When I went to pick up my cake on my scheduled day and time I was on a time crunch. I tried calling the bakery to let them know I was on my way (I was already running 10-15 min past my scheduled pick up time) and their phone kept going straight to voicemail. When I got there, 15 minutes past my scheduled pick up time, the front counter person notified me that they were still working on my cake... this was really strange to me since I was already late. 5 minutes later she came out of the back with my cake (which made me think that they rushed to finish it up). I was in a hurry so I wasn’t able to look at it closely but from first glance it looked fine. They were able to use the figurines that I wanted, so that made me happy. Also, it was very affordable, only $35. She boxed it up and I was on my way. When I got home and took the cake out to get a closer look I was extremely disappointed in the presentation. It was very sloppy. The bottom edge of the front portion of the cake was all messy and did not look finished. The “Star Wars” lettering was very, very sloppy. The inspiration photo I sent used fondant to make the letters, but they used icing, which is not what I was expecting at all. Also, the galaxy background looked very amateur and more like little paint splatters than a “galaxy.” To top it off, the cake was extremely dry. We only took a few bites before throwing it out. The buttercream icing was the only good thing. If I paid $50+ for this cake I would’ve called and complained, but since it was inexpensive it wasn’t worth it for me. Overall, I won’t be getting another cake from them...

After buying this cake topper online I was having a hard time finding a place to put this on a cake. A friend of mine referred me to this establishment. They made a golf cake for his birthday party and he brought the leftovers to my work and it was very good!they decorated and make the cake look very nice:) They were able to accommodate my cake topper that I bought online and was able to put onto a cake that I bought from them. They also put the time and effort to decorate around the cake topper picture. They were a very reasonable price for a cake everywhere else was very expensive. They were very friendly and very nice and had to listen to what I wanted done to the cake and they put this cake together for me exactly how I wanted the cake to look like!!! I am extremely happy with how the cake turned out. Highly recommend then to anyone looking for a very nice cake!! Everyone at the party love the cake so much:) thank you so much for being awesome and making this cake look wonderful!! 5 stars a around!!!you guys rock keep up the good work!
