Ropertis Turkey Farm — Attraction in Livonia

I've bought their birds a couple of times over the years, and was always happy with the experience and the meal enjoyed. Their product is not inexpensive, but I can justify paying a bit more for a better bird than you'll find in the store. This year, however, was a very different experience which prompts me to not return again... I reserved a bird (12-13 lbs) for pick up on Monday, given a price of $18-$22. I wasn't able to make it in as scheduled, so I called the next morning to confirm that my reserved bird was still there... was told that it is and to just let them know that we're there to pick up a bird from the previous day's schedule. I sent my fiancee there with one of my personal checks (they only accept personal check and cash). After standing in a cold muddy line for an exceptional amount of time, they told her that the smallest they had on hand was a 20 lb bird for $77... Wait, what???? After having spent so much time and aggravation in line, and not even having time to send me a quick text to see if it's ok (she felt very rushed through the entire transaction), she accepted it. Beware this Mom & Pop local business... they tell you one thing on the phone, but deliver something different and much more expensive when...

Just got our first turkey from Roperti's. Great customer service and very friendly staff even after dealing with my frustration! Will definitely go back. Make sure you get there early if you are a walk in. You can also place your order prior to picking up, but call a couple days in advance. They can run out of turkeys.

I heard about the farm from a co worker two days before Thanksgiving. Just sharing below so that everyone knows how great the people are at Roperti's.

I called in yesterday to reserve one and at the time they weren't taking anymore orders, only walk in's from that point. I asked if I could come in the next day and they said that was fine, they would have a turkey.

When I arrived and said I was a walk in they said they didn't have any more turkeys! I got frustrated, and told them about my call. They went out of their way to make sure I had a turkey, even taking from their own personal turkeys to make sure I had one for Thanksgiving!!

I just want to say thank you to this wonderful business and I will update about the turkey...
