JK Computers — Attraction in Lockport

I will start this review by saying I have no affiliation with JK Computers, and this is my review on my first experience with them.

I have been in the IT business for decades so I have a lot of experience with both computers and technicians that work on them. My computer has been giving me grief for a long time and producing situations that have baffled even me. Normally I can figure things out and fix them on my own through my own research. Not this time. My 12 year old computer finally had the best of me and I gave it up for dead.

I decided to give JK Computers a shot to see what went wrong at the very least for my own knowledge of what the failure was (not expecting anything) before I went out to spend a lot of money on a new computer. But, something different happened.

I discovered a computer shop that is the cleanest and most organized shop I have ever seen with extremely friendly and knowledgeable technicians. It is even cleaner and more organized than the ones I have experienced on the job in the big companies I have worked for!

Then, the impossible happened. The JK Computers technician Ryan took my 12 year old computer, used his experience on it, and in a one day turnaround, mind you one day, not only fixed my computer but made it faster than I ever remember it to be for an incredibly low price! To say I was surprised and shocked is an understatement! Me, a computer veteran of decades am very, very impressed by JK Computers in Lockport.

Ryan in short produced a miracle for me, saved me a lot of money on a new computer, and even took the time to give me advice on how I can make my computer even faster!

I ask you, what more can you ask from any establishment? This is hands down the best computer shop I have encountered. I cannot recommend them any higher. I'd give them 10 stars if it was available.

Kind, professional, extremely knowledgeable and patient and VERY reasonable, love that they are our local service center for computers! Highly recommend then for any repairs or service Update 4.2025 I have been using JK for over a decade and it dawned on me after today's visit, the reason I continue to now travel back to Lockport (currently an hour away) specifically for JK is not only the superior technical knowledge which they posses in spades but the incredible empathy and understanding they show every customer. They get that these machines are a huge part of our personal and business lives and they are very intent on making sure they convey understanding of our stress and concern while handing out well thought out and in depth ways of fixing whatever malady our machines currently posses. Today, Tristan was very businesslike but gentle in explaining I wasn't aware that my beloved DELL is 14 years old and I should be considering a replacement, not the pushy salesman you find in most places. While I have one more 'component' to be picked up atJK Computers, I can happily attest to the prompt and efficient service of this company to date, as they got the basic aspects of my 'crashed' computer up and running. A new operating system was put on the computer, and it is working beautifully. Both Tristan and Willow have been very helpful; their customer service has been excellent.

I am grateful for all that has been done to get me back to basics on this old MAC, and I look forward to receiving the hard drive with files that were able to be salvaged and downloaded contained therein. I understand that particular aspect of the repair is quite time-consuming, and thus agreed to make a return trip to acquire the external drive.
