This was a park of convenience but a little confusing. Whitney Branch Veterans Park is pet friendly park that’s connected to another park with a common path. When I walked the dogs I didn’t realize I ended up in the no dogs park. I walked back to the pet friendly side without incident but with a little worry I’d get yelled at. A lady walking her dog was confused too. The girls and I finally made back to the rv where a lady put out a plate of cat food under my rear bumper. I watched her from a distance as I was bringing the girls back to the rv. Apparently a neighbor’s cat wonders about and visitors at the park feed it. It’s not smart to feed other peoples pets without permission. My girls raised cane when they saw that cat still there but the cat was calm and didn’t care to leave as quickly as we wanted it to. What’s funny is the lady that fed the cat could have put the food under a tree nearby instead of upsetting me and my dogs. It’s not like she didn’t know I was there with dogs. We had both been there long enough for her to notice. How rude. Anyway, we had a good time at this park aside from the...

There is a lot going on at this park that goes by a few names on the other site but there are signs here that provide the name: Whitley Branch Veterans Park. Disc golf course, pickleball courts, multiple playgrounds, several picnic shelters. It goes for maybe a half mile along Dixie Street with multiple entrances.

At 7am on a Sunday, there was a good bunch of folks walking. It's clear that some people use the park for a "morning meetup" as they get in their steps and that was nice to see. The park is in excellent condition with neatly mown grass, no trash anywhere and all of the equipment I saw was cared for. The playground had several things to climb on, slide down and swing on.

Plenty of parking near the covered picnic shelter that had picnic tables and trash cans and a charcoal grill. There is also a dog park here but I didn't see it...

If you're in the area and looking for a park, this is the one to go to. Anything park related is covered here. They had paved trails, tennis courts, a playground, a dog park, restroom facilities, and there's a stream running through it all.

The city maintains this place well. It was very clean, and there were trash cans and dog poop receptacles throughout. You could also see where they had maintenance done on the fence for the dog park, so obviously a lot of thought was put in. I took my dog midday on a Saturday and we met plenty of polite dogs and people. Stop by for...
