Update: I went there again 2 to 3 years later, and the prices are still outrageous for pretty damaged items. Every large item is still there. I'm not sure how this place even stays open or makes money.
Almost every review here talks about how fun the place is to walk around in. That's 100% true as it's like a carnival fun house in there. The place is an absolute maze of small spaces to explore (in a very large overall space), with some of the craziest things you've ever seen. But, I barely saw any reviews of people saying they actually bought anything there. Honest opinion, the prices for most of the things I looked at were way too high (furniture, oddities), especially for scratched, damaged items, from a thrift store no less. That's where you go to SAVE money, right? If you search a lot, you can find some items that ARE really cheap though, but overall, especially for any unique items, they are very expensive. A woman told us they have excellent prices on mirrors, for an example of something cheaper. That being said, I walked past this one dresser/cabinet unit, which was in great condition, minus one backing piece, and it was only $30. I got the guy to come over to see if the price was a mistake. It was not! I bought it instantly. It even has a semi-working safe unit inside (which I'm gonna try to fix). It's definitely a unit that came from a hotel. So, 1 star off for the prices, because as cool as the place is, items should be a lot cheaper. I think it should be a thrift store first, oddity museum second. The other units that matched the size or even smaller than the one I bought were $200-400, so it pays to keep your eyes open and check every tag. Also, many price tags were hard to read or partially wiped off. That made shopping a little...
Read moreI have purchased nearly $3,000 worth of furniture from this place over the past month and a half and was pleased with it's quality.
Included in this set of items were 4 $100 lights. After realizing these lights would not work for their intended purpose, I went to return them. I had my receipt, and fully expected to have to pay a restocking fee for them, given that it says so on my receipt and that I would be issued a store credit. I had no problem with this.
I proceeded in today, and upon exiting my vehicle, the owner recognized me (as I'd spent $3k and had spent ample time there making my choices). I explained I needed to return 4 lights and was immediately shot back with "Every __cking day I've opened this week it's started with a __cking return!". I explained calmly that I was hoping these lights would work, but they were just too big and we were disappointed we couldn't use them. More profane ranting ensued.
After writing up my credit and more profanity not directed at me (but just as unprofessional) I thanked the owner and mentioned I would need the blankets I had wrapped the lights in, in order to ensure their safe travel - along with the plastic containers that were mine. He then snatched two of the lights out of the box and kicked his back door in with a rage. Came back out and snatched the last one from my hand - all of this in front of another shopper at that!
I am extremely disappointed AND amazed that in this day and age where customer service is more important than ever, to have been...
