OK Beach not really well maintained. There's parking but it's a busy beach so come early. 11am or early for parking. If you come in at noon or later expect to wait for parking. Free parking on the streets. Unfortunate you get people that leave their trash behind and somebody left a diaper next to to my beach towel wasn't on it was just kind of close to it. I mean come on seriously people. There's trash cans at least 10 ft 15 ft away from you. The restroom I kind of blame it on you guys not flushing then those who wants to flush it it gets clogged. It's not pretty. Also there's no soap when washing your hands. But if you don't use the restroom and you get a good crowd you have fun in this beach and your kids will have fun. Just remember to bring an umbrella there's no shade on the sand only on the grass. Don't forget the sunblock some toys for the kids a cooler with water and snacks and your beach towels. And Cash. Because there's a ice cream man and also there's the food truck that goes there and they only take cash. There's a ATM but you know...
Read moreMB is tucked under the PCH bridge as you go from Naples Island/ 2nd st shops eastbound to PCH Marina Mall area. Very safe clean beach and playground for kids. Good tree cover and green lawn area. Metered parking is about $1/hr. Free parking along street is limited. You can also launch paddleboards/yaks here if you can carry them a hundred feet or so . MB Is also good place to start a bike ride to LB Dwtn via biking Appian way over short bridge, then riding Bay shore ave south all way to connection to Long beach bike path near Bay shore playgrounds/ 5400 E ocean blvd parking lot
You can also find accessible free parking on other side of 2nd st bridge at basin 4 boat marina parking lot. It is private marina parking but they will let you park there all day. It is about a 300 yard pavement walk to MB Park from Basin 4 parking.
Have much more to write about this entire area but have to run. I will have more reviews in future of MB/Alamitos Bay, how and where to paddle board...
Read moreThis place is a hot zone for families as it has a cute beach area that you can let the kids enjoy with lifeguards. There's a dock but no cleats to secure your boat. The edge has wood rails so I was able to still secure my boat. You can beach your boat near between the swimming area and life tower. I asked the lifeguard to make sure. Restrooms were dark as there's no sky lights and if a light goes out, well, good luck. Get there early on a hot weekend as parking is tough to get and the paid parking fills up quick. There's no benches or tables or bbq's so it's not the ideal place to do a bbq. We brought cold cut sandwiches and a cooler and still enjoyed this place a ton.
One drawback about boating around here is that the whole entire place is 5mph zone and no wake. There's the stadium area where you water sky or just go fast on your own boat. No JetSky/SeaDoos allowed at the stadium water sky area though.
Overall, great family place and we still had...
