So I usually would start this review out by saying how nice and polite the employees are... Today I went to pick up an order that I had placed online upon entering store there was an older white gentleman and I was trying to ask him where do I go to pick up and he ignored me and I kept asking and kept ignoring me so finally he says I'm trying to help my next customer I said sir I am just trying to ask you a question I just need to know do I need to stand in the line or do you have a pickup side... this Spanish guy came over and he told me and I went to the line I just don't think it's right for that employee that older white men to talk to me like the way he did yes I'm african-american and it shouldn't make a difference...I did not deserve that because I was not trying to cut the line I was merely asking a basic...
Read moreHonestly, it has been years since I've been to a Barnes & Nobles. An employee said "Hello" I a cheerful voice when we walked in. I remember they used to have a "new age" section with all kinds of interesting books, but now it is called the "self transformation" and the books in that section are so basic and boring. Like the new "new age" section has been censored or dumbed down compared to what I used to find 10 years ago. What was really cool though, is that they carry complete learn-a-new-language programs that are now only about fifty bucks! That was surprising. This Barnes & Nobles is an okay place if you happen to be in the neighborhood and just want to browse around... but if you are looking for that rare book, you may not want to waste your time coming...
Read moreAll I can say is WOW. I am so impressed by the way I was treated. I waited till they opened and was met by a smiling lady putting out huge stands with info on them about sales in store. She held the door open for me do I did the same for her putting out the stands. I then asked where certain authors books could be found. She said right downstairs from where you are standing as I entered. As I headed down the escalator I was asked three times if I needed any help. Once downstairs I was again greeted by a very friendly smiling face. She offered suggestions on a few other authors and shared her reading experiences. She was so helpful and caring and informative. I didn't want to leave. I can't wait to get back in there. I actually felt welcome...
