Harry's Corner Store — Attraction in Longboat Key

Cyclists beware - extremely rude staff: My buddy and I were doing a bike ride down to Lido Key and back and stopped here to grab a quick snack and some water. My bike isn’t exactly cheap and I didn’t feel comfortable leaving it sitting out front, so I went inside with my bike by my side. The lady behind the counter proceeded to scream at me “HEY YOU NO UH UH YOU NO YOU CANT BRING THOSE IN HERE…”, etc on and on for a good 30 seconds. Once I realized she was talking to me I simply turned around and told her there was no reason for her to take that tone with me and a simple “can you please leave your bike outside?” would have sufficed. I like supporting local business but I’m also not going to patron a place that prioritizes screaming at potential customers. I doubt this review will do a whole lot in the way of changing that but hopefully provides a heads up to cyclists stopping...

Ewwww was this what became of Sam Druckers' Petticoat Junction General Store after a time warp jumble? Definitely an anomaly in an upscale affluent area but hey I guess that's how those folks made their money by nickel and dime. Cheesy merch even below a Pilot truck stop. Ok if we needed ice cream maybe or just didn't want to walk too far. Was considering the restaurants out back but they're closed for what the door sign said as Summer Break even though it's Fall. Oooh maybe next trip if I need more...

Love this store! My gfs family jokes that I’m a bit too fond of the place so they got me a Harry’s shirt which is one of my favorite relaxing shirts. They really have a large selection of things and the staff is great also and for us staying across the street, the location can’t be beat!
